Come on Jimbo let us see the lastest pictures. I know you will have to check every bolt by removing it and seeing if they have the correct height and such -- but I know it is frame off and restored. Show me the cheese. The Doctor

(Continued from above, scans from old paper pics are taking some time)

As of the date of the 1981 purchase, the car had been 48K on the odometer. Nevertheless, neglect had taken its toll. Fortunately, at 19 Brian was working in a local body shop under the watchful eye of an old hand who encouraged him to buy all OEM parts for a body off resto. So he saved and bought OEM quarters, fenders, inner and outer, core support, grille, bumper emblem, sail panel, mouldings, fuzzies, door handles etc when his funds permitted. So began the 20 + year resto odyssey of the B day X from Lizard Lick. It continues to this day.

From 1981 until today the X only went another 1000+ miles, underwent a body off, and the engine was rebuilt by a Buick racer from NW Penn by the name of CHUBA (sp?) (Apparently raced a 69 and was quick). His friend, the drag racer, worked in a machine shop.

Since 1981 the X has spent most of the time stored in warehouse with resto in progress but a long progress. Except from the back of a trailer or a rollback, it has not seen the road since the mid 80s.

Today the engine needs to be pulled, painted and detailed , the instrument cluster reinstalled, new exhaust put on and so forth. The cluster has been rechromed and the new decals are on. I will proudly take the car to home plate from here, but the real thanks goes to my friend Brian who at the tender age of 19 rescued this great machine from an uncertain fate.
