Amen, anyone that thinks they can restore a car cheaper than buying a nice original or older resto is sadly mistaken.Ive gone both routes and I think on the ones I restored my time was worth about $4.00 an hour.

I agree. I'm not that handy so I have most of my work done by someone else. You can buy a mint car cheaper than you can build it no doubt. You can look at the pics of project jumpin jimmy. You can buy one that is mint in every way a 390-395 point truck for 25k...... that might pay for my body work and paint. At 20k this car is a deal at 18k it's a steal.

    1970 Gs.

For $20,000.............Its a good deal and you would not get hurt buying it for that price. :TU:

Five years from now the price of that car will be at a much higher value and will only go up.

The 70 GS is a rare enough collector car to start off with anyway. :TU:

I still have Richard's old Fire Red '70 GS convertible. A straighter shooter you would have never met. I have no doubt his children are representative of him as well. I miss Richard and know his family does dearly. He was rippingly honest with me about that car ... and I took a train from Ohio with my Ex-girlfriend to get there. We drove it back about 800 miles. It ran flawlessly. Someone buy it ... before you buy a lesser car for more money elsewhere. Just saying the likely truth.

Mat, I have been following this thread, and I don't blame you for the way you feel! At least you know it should sell this time. Wish you were closer and shipping wasn't so much, I could bid more!

    Thanks, Chris

Whats really sad, is that after it's finally sold, everybody will be sitting around talking about the one that got away.

Good luck Mat, it will sell without a problem,it's a nice car:TU:
