Actually a member has a '71 GSX with body side moulding , as well as upper peak moulding and vinal top. I would be cautious about making "known to exist claims"
Maybe he ment the only knows GSX Non Stage 1 with no vynil and in that color with side moldings. reall have we not beaten this thing to death? I am ready to say I believe its a GSX and it is a rare car. AT the price shown I do not think IMHO thats a bargain either. I feel that if Duane believes it is then thats good enough for me. Remember that when this car was new not many people even cared that they existed. Why would someone clone a car that long ago? Certainly not worth the trouble and expense back then.
The stripes on the pass door and quarter tell it all. I have never seen anyone reproduce all the factory "screw-ups" correctly. They used different painting systems at the factory. His comment of the only X with body side molding comes from me, I told him I didn't know of any others, and had no record of any in my library records. It is quite possible there are others, I just didn't know of any. Duane PS. I stay out of the pricing/value of these cars, I am only interested in their history.
Hey everyone, I first of all want to thank Duane for inspecting the car. A expert like himself was the only way to have the car documented to be a true car. I also have the signed document from the first owner as well. I wanted to mention about the protective body side molding because there are people out there that would say the gsx's never came with that. well this car is the proof that they did. I just wanted to prove this was a real X and that I am a credible seller. So, thanks again Duane for taking the time to inspect my car. Marty
Marty On 71-72 GSX cars anything and everything was available in the options. All 71-72 GSX cars will be one of one's optionally due to wide array of color /trim choices available coupled with any or all options available. I am sure there were a fair # of 71-2 X's built with side moldings as these cars were all bought to be driven back in the day. Good Luck with the sale of your car.

Well it has a new home for $25k. Seller did well. We all passed at $20k a while back. Is brian1118 a board member?
