That would be cool Alan, having all those Buicks cruising around town.

We have to find out if there are any cruise nights in that area..

#1- Do we have a BPG banner/flag available to hang on the tent ?
#2- How about someone with refined literary skills, that leaves me out, posts an invitation on some of the other Buick sites?

If some talented people can come up with a JPG of some sort, I can print it out (36") wide. Just send me something and I can do it no problem :TU: . As far as a cruise night we will plan that in a few (it a totally awsome idea Alan :TU: )

Here is a LOCAL list for all to see!

    Denny's, Ferry Rd. & Route 9 South, Old Bridge, NJ 6 -9 PM 732-721-6137 or 732-316-0707 http://www.classicknights.com

Holmdel Town Center, Hwy 35 & Laurel Ave. , Holmdel, NJ 6-9 PM 732-787-0290 (7/20 ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO ASSOCIATED HUMANE SOCIETY )
    Dool@bellatlantic.net

Home Depot, Rt. 9, Howell, NJ 1-732-303-7187

I think the Holmdel shopping plaza one is not going to happen for the 2003 year, but I will check. I have a friend who is a memeber of that club and he said he dosent think so (too bad, it was a good cruise too) We could also take over a parking lot somewhere and have our own cruise in....I have to talk with a DJ friend of mine that deals with car shows and stuff (I will find out more during my next club meeting)

Alan, as far as pics, thats a totally awsome idea as well :TU: . Take some and post them here and show everone how nice the park actually is.

If we have to make up our own cruise spot....ideas are totally welcome...I just hope mine will be somewhat presentable when the time comes :( ....

    Re: Updates

    Hi Paul -

I don't see why all Buick people in the area (or within a reasonable driving distance) cannot attend :) I *think* the tent can fit a maximum of 120 people (sitting at picnic tables), but I'm sure everyone will not be eating at the same time. That leaves a possibility to have many, many more Buick enthusiasts attend the picnic :TU:

Right now, the place is reserved for 80 people. The reason for the head count is because the park rangers will adjust the number of tables under the tent. I already upped it from 60 to 80, and I can easily up it to 120. As we get closer to the date (like April), a poll would be in order to find out how many people are coming.

    It's a BIG park!

    Marco,
Remember what happened to me when I opened the door for everyone, they rolled in like the red tide. I think this year it's going to be great. Maybe we could get something made to give to all the attendees, like "Second Annual East Coast BPG ..........
I can make a sign up sheet like I did last year.

A sign up sheet is a great idea so we know who attends and all. Duane the reason I suggested the park idea was because from the pics I saw alot of people were lobsters and cramped in your back yard . I'm glad everone is participating in this event, I'm now officially a member of BPG (#1368), and I'm a member for 2 years too :TU:. Any ideas are still open, and I cant thank Marco enough for taking care of the spot while I'm laid up in bed, and keeping all the questions answered (A BIG :TU: AND A :beer GOES TO HIM!) As far as the surgerery situation....I'm hopeing for some good news tomorrow from the doctor....if I can't be on my feet for another week...well lets just say I will be :af:. I need to get some parts in Conn. and I need to get the Buick tuned up this weekend. Lets just say I'm really tring to get this Skylark presentable by the time the picnic comes....it may not have the rear quaters done, but at least it will be better looking then it looks now. Only time will tell with how things go! Wish me luck on that headache

Larry glad the surgery went OK. If you need to fight infection sometimes it's best done from the inside.:beer.
Duane a big thanks for putting on the show last year. This year you can kick back and enjoy.
Does anyone know if 110 outlet is near the tent for possible recharge of camera batteries, laptop downloads, music or fans.
Hey with all this talk of how much work some of your cars need maybe we should have a "In need of the most resto" award for those who might want to enter that catagory.
If we don't fill that 120 person tent I will be very surprised. :Smarty:

I told my buddy about the picnic and he wants to come along.

He asked me if he could bring his 65 Shelby Cobra kit car that he is just finishing up, he said that it should be ready by June.

I told him that I would have to ask the group..

    What do you guys think??

I feel that any and all hot rods are welcome. Just as long as they don't try to incite any "us vs them" arguements. This is a Buick group, and we would like all comers to behave themselves and have fun, but not start any brand wars (it can flare quickly and get out of hand even quicker - we're all passionate about our brands).

I'd love to see his Shelby kit car!

As far as awards...I think I will win the most needed resto award.....Believe me my Skylark needs it badly...Just ask Ray and Jeff (Yardley) . I have no problems with a handful of others that are not Buick, but please keep in mind...we need to keep this wth the family additude in mind. Music is not a problem, as long as its kept within the tent. According to the parks commission....no LOUD music, and no burn outs and such. This will get us kicked out for sure . We have a great group of guys here :beer and I'm sure things will go well. Remember this event is 4 months away, so start making plans and getting ready....and for those who have any extra parts to go around.....PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!! I'M REALLY DESPERATE    :TU:

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

    Field Report.....

OK....was out to the park last Saturday. Unfortunately it was so Foggy taking any pics would have been like looking inside a cloud:rolleyes:

The park is Plenty big....lots of large open area's near the parking lot. Tree's for shade....etc. Playground with slides / swings etc. for the tots (very nice too....if you're bringin youngin's). Also, lots of trails / paths to walk around if you bring a "friend". (No, Rick M, I wont go for a walk with you :moonu: )

I wasn't sure where the tent would be set up, but regardless its shouldn't be more than a 30 sec. walk from the parking lot.

Parking Lot was 5 or 6 rows, double sided, at least 30 deep per row.

My suggestion would be to have a couple of the middle rows roped off for us AND ONLY US. First row is heavy traffic - only way in, so we dont want that.

Im up for a friend bringing a non-buick car (if he can take the heat).....but this should remain a CLOSED event. We dont want word getting out that theres a (general) get-together and then have 400 cars show up and we're ousted !!

The park is in the middle of NO Where, so dont get close and figure "I'll pick up some ____ when i get there". Its prolly a good 15 minute drive to the nearest anything.

Signs on poles will definately be needed.....I can prolly handle this :TU:

Maybe turn this into an informal Swap Meet too .....outa the trunks ??

Chairs, lounges, 10x10 Easy-ups.....whatever else to make yourself Cumfy for the day.

    Anyone else Love Frisbee ???

Not sure about Dawgs....Marco / Larry - can you check ??

    ....Over & Out

I have to check out the dog part for ya Alan....give me a few to find out for ya :TU: . Too bad you couldn't take any pictures, but I'm glad you liked the park on your visit, and that its great for what we want to do there....PARTY!!! Anyway...I agree with you Alan, lets not loose sight of what this get together is all about...its about BUICK guys getting together and having some fun together like 1 big happy Buick family. Out of trunck swapmeet is an awsome idea too Alan...I just need to increase my trunk size to put all the stuff I need back there  . Frisbee's, kites's, soft ball, fishing, bring anything you guys would like to do! remember its a public park, so any activity that you would normally do in a park is perfectially fine. Lets make this an event to remember :beer :TU: :beer

1 MORE THING GUYS!!!! An idea for a sign for the tent came up...I work for a drafting department....ANY IDEA'S FOR A SIGN!!! Let me know I can print any sizs out as long as its 36 inches wide!!!! Make a sign up, post it here, and the one we pick will be the one on display at the picnic....just another fun thing to get you guys motivated :TU:

Thanks for the the info guys..my buddy is a real quit guy..he can take some ribbing..he's cool.
He loves Buicks..and he said he will tape on some Gran Sport Emblems on the side of the Cobra to make him feel at home.

Alan. I think thats a great idea to have a mini swap meet out of our trunks.
    Thanks again,:TU:

Larry: I am planning on being there, possibly with the BPG trailer and motorhome. Is this place big enough to get the rig in and out? Might do some racing at Etown. I do have the BPG banner. Bus has 110V for cameras, etc.

I also thought Rick M. would only take walks in the woods with little boys!!!! You're a pig Martinez!

Does any one know where I can pick up a REAR seat in BLACK for a 70 Skylark custom CONVERTIBLE.

I need the waffle grain type.

I am looking for one in A1 condition, I posted it here so that maybe someone that is going to the picnic can bring it along.

    Thanks guys,
