Why did the "artist" place every skull in the same position???????? Anyway yesterday there was a late Imp with what I guessed were 26"s. The numbers "26" 8 in. high were placed on both back door windows and on the fender. He also had one "26" about 15 in. high on the rear window. I noticed that his left front wheel was out of round and wobbly. We were side by side at a red light and I pointed that out to him and he replied "yeah man, I hit a pot hole". This is N.O.!!!!!! There 'aint anything BUT pot holes 'round here.ou: Then I asked him what size are they?????? He said "26's". The light turned green and the wife said "Oh God I can't believe you got him to say it!!" I beef is I can see you decided to place these enormous things on your car, but why oh why must the size be written 5,6,7 times. They're big dude, I get it. I do love it when they have all the numbers up and the car is sittin on stock...
What about the people that have a new Chevrolet Impalas, that have giant stickers covering the length of the doors that say "Impala". It's not like I would mistake it for a Ferarri or something.
I for one dont much care for the ''donk'', ''box'', ''high roll'n'' look. But I do dig that many cool full-size rides are being saved from the scrapper and treasured by those that do:TU: I bought my '69 Olds 98 from a black dude that was roll'n on 22''s. I got a great deal on it because I let him keep the wheels and hooked him up with some parts for his '67 Imp'. I put 15'' Kelsey-Hayes wires on it that fit my style better and cruised it for about 3 years When I went to sell it I constantly had to run off redneck-hotrodders that wanted to yank the 455 for their nova/pickup/2nd-gen camaro and crush the car:af: As a side note, the ''big rims kill the handling'' argument is silly because so do ''big-n-littles'' on an A-body :Smarty: But the big rim guys dont drive fast, the 15x4/15x10 guys usualy do:3gears: What ever floats your boat though......
LOL!!!!! I think the same thing (although I did have a 10in. Imp logo on my rear window for a couple of years-everything except displacement in moderation). Off topic, but I rib people I know w/ their own names tattooed on themselves. I ask if they forget their names.....
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3935400/1984-buick-lesabre Decided to go with 20 Inch Daytons, No lifting, No Rubbing & No cutting and hardly a difference at all in the way it rides. Rides 100X Smoother than my Aunts New Jetta and mines 27 years old
That looks just fine! Look....it coulda been an ordinary four door sedan, but different wheels make it something special. Have fun with it!
I like everything from 14" to 20". Once they start getting over 20" they start to look disproportionate to me. And that's coming from someone that was into the 91-96 Caprice/Impala. I think 20's on a big car look good, and 17's or 18's on a medium car.
Its a matter of opinion. Big rims look great on some cars, bad on others. Same with small rims. Some rims are UGLY no matter what size and look ugly on any car. I really like those 20 and 22 inch IROC rims. They looks good on any Muscle car imo because the rims style is fantastic. I don't see the hate on big rims so much? I like all different kinds of rims on cars. Example, I think my car would look good with anything from 15 inch Cragar SS rims up to 22 inch spinners but that is MY opinion, I get A LOT of compliments on my car and my rims I have never had anybody laugh, young and old seem to like it. I think a lot of people on here are just stuck in there uptight ways and think "If it isn't customized to my taste its horrible" Well I made my car the way I wanted it to look and didnt make it to impress anybody except myself, just happens that a lot of people like my car but on here o No: But I dont care, like I said, Wouldnt you rather see an old classic driving on the road no matter what kind of rims where on it instead of it being in a junkyard rotting away somewhere?
Thanks! I LOVE my car. When it was wrecked some guy stopped and offered me $500 he wanted to derby it, I told him to F off. He stopped the other day and asked me if that was the same car I said yes, he said he was impressed and had never seen somebody fix up an 84 Buick before. He even took pics haha.
I think some Centerline 18" Billet Stars would look good on the '73 Estate wagon, but that's about $2300 just for the rims! When the rim to rubber ratio gets higher than about 2:1, for me it just doesn't look right. 18" rims and 28" tall tires would be 1.8:1. And that goes the other way, too. 15" rims and 44" tires look goofy to me.
Big fat :TU: for saving your car!!! Like I said in a previous post, the ''big rim'' thing isnt for me but I love that the style makes old iron wanted and even treasured by those that are into it:beer
I never would of thought that a 4 door 84 Buick would turn so many heads going down the road uzzled: Must have a lot to do with the Flowmaster exhaust haha...
