    yea that drivers side one for sure isnt goin in untill you lift the motor back up. i guess you might stand a chance if your taking the upper arm off but i still have my doubts. and then be careful because that last tube on the drivers side i know didnt quite line up and we had to do some tweaking to get the bolts in.:TU:

    I have done 2 455 Regals, and the only way I have been able to install the headers is lay them in there before you set the engine on the mounts.

    That's what I hear from all of the 455 Regal guys. Also if you have 1 piece header gaskets you need to make the drivers side a 2 piece to get the dipstick tube in.

    You are exactly right sailbrd. The dipstick tube won't fit unless you cut the gasket.

    Thanks much. We figured that one out. We did lay the headers in the engine bay first. Check out YouTube at "nastechengineering7" for videos.

    ... STOCK 1987 REGAL FUEL TANK;

    I last drove the 307 Olds Regal @ 2-years ago with @ 4-gallons of gas left in it. Is it necessary to have the fule tank flushed prior to my D&S Buick 455 start-up??? I had a '85 Regal with a V6 for my Pee-Gee Buick 462. I plumed in the new motor and did NOT do any flushing. I had no clue if any gas was in the tank. Please help.:Dou:

    I would drain the fuel and start with fresh fuel. Fuel goes bad very quickly so why take a chance.

    In regards to the FRAM filter, see how far you can throw it!

    Use a WIX or NAPA Gold instead, and change it for the same after break-in.

    After work today, I stopped by the SHOP ... more things were done; those pics tomorrow ... very tired --- work, the Buick, and painting our new 3-bedroom apartment ... the OCD-way (lollll).:sleep:

    Why use 2 right side arms instead of 1 left and 1 right? I'm gathering every tid-bit of info i can and making notes on everything i will need to do for my swap.

    Those cheap a-arms are intended for dirt track use so the left one is not the same dimensionally as the right ( helps make the constant left turn more efficient ). The rights however are the dimensionally the same installed on either side. Several people have used these in Gbody's successfully but I myself spent a few extra $$ and went with the SPC fully adjustables...

    As for the need for them on the swap it really helps when you are putting headers on the 455 - eliminates the need to grind on the stock upper. Otherwise if your just using stock manifolds - its really not needed.
