Hard to believe if they were spotted that they weren't caught :Do No: Whoever spotted them should have called 911 or a state police number immediately, then remained on the phone and followed them until the police showed up to pull them over. At least that's what I would have done. It's a shame that this may have been the only opportunity of anyone catching them.

Phil It really *is* a 350...

That's it. I've got an old iPhone i'm going to wire into the dash and hook up to a full time battery feed. I figure its cheaper than buying a new independent OnStar FMV setup or LoJac.

Unfortunately, we don't know if the person who spotted the convoy was aware of the theft at the time, or if they were made aware of it some time later.

Good point, but I also wonder if all the state police departments have been notified of the thefts?? Of course, they would have to be the ones to actually see them.

    There are no updates.

I am not going to go into details about the vehicles because I don't know if the POS are reading this. I wish I would have been confronted by them because they would have felt what .45 hollowpoint from my off-duty H&K USP Compact feels like.

My set up was parked by the golf course adjacent to the Holiday Inn with the other tow rigs.

At least have the courtesy of quoting the entire sentence in context and not a snippet. If anyone is stirring the pot, it would be you.

Entire quote: "This is by no means a dig at the GSCA as I am sure that this is the last thing they wanted to see happen as they have proven to support the Buick Community for many years "

If it was a major ring, I would suspect they would have loaded them in a tractor Trailor or two....Just sayin'

Yeah, it would seem traveling down an interstate with those GN's on open trailers would be too risky. However, most thieves are notorious for being stupid...

If the scumbags were after only the 5 GN's, I could see "professional" (if there is such a thing) scum thieves off-loading the cars and reloading onto other trailers before traveling.

I'm very sorry to hear that this has happened. I know what they're going through as I had a Chevy truck stolen in 1992. The feeling of violation is tremendous and it's amazing how quickly you think back to cattle theives and how they strung those guys up back in the day and wish that were still the case. The suggestion that the owners could have done something different to prevent it is not fair to the victims. Leave those suggestions to another thread as the perps are solely responsible for these acts.

Some one mentioned the likelihood that this will happen again. My truck was stolen at a racing event. A cashier across the street from the race track asked me if my stolen truck was a Silverado. I said yes, and she said very matter of factly, "They take two every race". There was a second guy with me waiting for the county to take our reports. Yes, his was a Silverado too.

Let's hope for recovery and conviction.

Why would anything but armatures steel these cars? They have to be hard to get rid of? In the scheme of things they arent worth a ton of money. Seems the risk is greater than the reward? Now I could maybe see a track full of corvettes. But this Buick group is pretty small and seems everyone knows everyone? I'm not a thief so I can't think like one.

I did post over on the Turbo board. I put an ad on CL and my FB page. I have friends in the trucking industry and have alerted them. I hope they catch these bastards:af:

You must not know how huge of a following GNs have, and how popular they truly are. GNs are probably the most widely known and desired Buick ever amongst the general public. Also, GNs go for big bucks on the street.

Unfortunately, these and most other high dollar stolen cars don't turn up in one piece because the money is safer to get illegally by selling the parts. The focus is not the later sale of a complete, turn-key automobile in cases like this.

This is why early retrieval is so damned important.

Someone should setup a sting operation and catch these thieves in the act. Put another GN on a trailor, and park it nearby where one of the others was taken. Then go hide across the street with the cops on standby.

Once they take the car, don't bust them immediately. Have an unmarked regular car follow them and see where they go with it.

I've watched too much Hawaii five-O when I was a kid..,.

Im pretty sure at least one of these cars had an aluminum ta block and other big dollar goodies. I have a TSO car and my motor alone was over 20K with no accessories, so there is plenty of money to be made....

Well, hopefully the Buick community is well connected enough that when this stuff goes up for sale, they'll get caught. A theif, I would guess, wants the money right now. Pray they find the cars in one piece.
