I trust the educated bunch of the group here recognize that The Constitution is indeed clinging to life and so many of the deplorable, corrupt and immoral elected Government politicians are rubber hosing it for the last gasp; ALL HAND's ON DECK. The division in the country, as so eloquently proven in this and all threads that break into political diatribes on this BUICK board, is reaching heights the likes of which perhaps have not been seen since the American Civil War; is that where we are headed? If you have not done so already, there may still be some time, start digging your back yard bunkers and stocking up on canned food, guns / ammo and BUICK Parts  Don’t forget batteries and a radio.
Next, a call to arms; Read the US Constitution while you can. Mean while, quit the constant bitching at each other here and do something about it! The amount of time and effort some of you people regularly spend piping off on this board about politics can be better spent being active in your communities; but for GOD's sake, please base your points of view on the truth. Write, call, e-mail your elected officials and organize your community to oust the corrupt immoral trash that has been handed the keys to the country by a immoral, propagandist media. Read the 10th Amendment before you get started.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution
And for God’s sake and This Greatest Country's sake, we all need to be proud to stand beside Her and guide Her, unite here and focus on the solutions, after all, we ALL have at least one thing in common; the opportunity of freedom, prosperity and a better world for our children.
With all due respect to all of you here, MarkO

I have a hard time understanding why people would be content with the same ruler (Saddam) being in power when he went into Kuwait and massacred people. Come on Junkman, tell everyone there was nothing wrong with that episode.

We should have taken him out back then.:TU:

Funny thing, Saddam was an ally of the U.S, government. I believe the U.S. government helped put Saddam Hussein in power. Hmmm? In fact,Donald Rumsfeld himself met with Saddam Hussein in person on more than one occasion. You should talk with someone from there. I have. An Iraqi national living here has told me that Hussein wasn't near as bad as our media portayed him to be. Hussein was loved by many Iraqi citizens. He could be brutal, though. For the most part,Hussein took care of the citizens. The northern Iraqi provinces did not like Hussein or any of the southern people. Lots of internal civil strife because of that. My friend came over here right after Gulf War 1 to buy and ship cars back to Iraq. He's been here ever since and still sends cars over. Our wonderful media. You can sure trust everything they tell you. Iraq and Kuwait? Iraq claimed that Kuwait was slant drilling into Iraqi territory. True or not,I don't know. I am learning that Iraq used protocal at first to address that, but turned to invasion afterwards. It was horrible for Iraq to do that, but AOK for us to do the same to Iraq? WTF ever. World's full of warmongers. And Bob, I think it was funny-the reporter throwing his shoes at Bush. So I guess that makes me chicken$hit on your list. Think I really care?

Sort of the point, make the place where they hide deadly.
Them mountain ranges they hide in are totaly useless except for them to hide like rats in. Will also make some good perment boundry lines to keep folks out.

No more terrorist fomr rivial countries sneaking in to start shet. Unless they want a 3rd arm.

    not even close yet.

now, what happens if the financial and trade systems collapse to such an extent that we can't get oil imported?

how are all of those people in the big cities going to get food? keep it refrigerated? cook it?

don't get me wrong, it wouldn't be a cake walk out in the country. but at least in the boonies, there's a chance that you could forage/cultivate effectively. if such a collapse were to happen in the summer.

i'm still not seeing anybody pay attention to canning fruits/vegetables or dry foodstuffs. nor to Victory gardens. it's kind of weirding me out.

we just had gas drop from $4.50/gal to $1.50/gal in the space of three months. noone seems to understand that this is, in its own way, almost more scary than steady $4/gal gasoline. i hope that this is due to a collapse in demand from China and India. but i'm not sure that reassures me much. China and India carry trade surpluses. we don't.

there are HUGE economic effects rolling around. and the way Bush is spending money and Obama is promising to spend even more, i'm really concerned that we could wind up with Weimar currency.

it's deflating right now but ......

I think Bob Mando is catching on. I am thinking about the same things. Maybe this is one reason Bush deployed the US military into the states. "to help quell civil unrest". They know something we don't? The signs are there.

it's a joke, Ted. kind of like how some people have a Bambi fetish.

now you've killed all the funny by making me explain it. thanks bunches. :idea2:

i would hope that the "I talk to trees..." thread would have been clear on that. or do you not know who the Smothers Brothers are?

I have. An Iraqi national living here has told me that Hussein wasn't near as bad as our media portayed him to be. Hussein was loved by many Iraqi citizens.

yes. he was well loved by his Sunni minority, for whom he always made certain that he skimmed off most of the oil profits and to whom he always gave the plum bureacratic appointments. from which, they could skim the fattest bribes.

The northern Iraqi provinces did not like Hussein

the Kurds. they're Sunni, but their tribal allegiance is to the Kurdish peoples of eastern Turkey, eastern Syria and western Iran. they have 'fantasies' ( and why shouldn't they after what we did to Yugoslavia? ) of a Greater Kurdistan. an idea which is extremely unpopular with all of the existing "States" in the area.

yeah, Saddam murdered plenty of them.

or any of the southern people.

yeah, the Shi'a Muslims. Saddam murdered plenty of them too. something about a thousand year old religious prejudice/grudge thing. kind of like most muslims have against us 'Crusaders'.

by the by, do you happen to know the religious identity of most of the people who have been murdering civilians in Iraq since Gulf War 2, Ted?

I believe the U.S. government helped put Saddam Hussein in power.

in the sense that he was a peon of one the factions that we supported against a military coup back in the 1960's.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saddam_hussein#Rise_to_power

oh, looky there, isn't that cute? Wiki says JFK was the first one to get us involved with him. mustn't speak evil of the sainted JFK. whatever will you do now, Ted?

In fact,Donald Rumsfeld himself met with Saddam Hussein in person on more than one occasion.

there's this little thing that happened back in 1979, maybe you remember it? the Iranian Hostage Crisis? he was being used to counter-balance Khomeini / Iran. we were using the tools we had.

the same applies to what support we gave to Al-Qaeda + Taliban vs Russia in Afghanistan during the 80's. we had no idea what they were going to turn into, we were using the tools we had available at the time against the greater threat. at the time.

'Barack Hussein Obama' he is now proud to say

The President-elect plans to bring his middle name out of exile and get sworn in on Jan. 20 as Barack Hussein Obama.

The "Hussein" was all but banned on the campaign trail, and those who used it were seen as trying to score an anti-Islamic point against Obama, whose father was raised as a Muslim.

Obama insisted he's not trying to make a statement.
