I'm pretty sure I got it at Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. It's a tape, I'll try to find someone nearby (anyone, anyone?) who can copy a tape or make a dvd copy and send it to you.
I was watching Halloween - H2O last night and could have sworn that I saw a 70-72 Skylark in there. It was in a dark scene so I can't be 100% sure. It's about 5 or 10 minutes into the movie, a nurse is being chased through a house by Michael Meyers. She ends up dead (as usual), while trying to get the attention of the police at the house next door. When the cops come out of that house, they notice a broken window in the house that the nurse was in and walk over the investigate. Just as they get to the house, Michael Meyers drive out of the driveway on the other side of the house and down the street with the lights off. The camera pans to show the car and it looks like a green Skylark.
If I remember correctly, in the 1962 Elvis Presley movie "Follow That Dream," the Florida state official who discovers Elvis and his family homesteading along a yet-to-be-opened highway drives a gold or beige full-size 1962 Buick. I could be wrong, but that's what I remember.
That IMCDB site is great, but I caught a movie they missed a 68-69 Skylark in...Dirty Harry. In the first one the bus hijacked by the psycho passes it before going in to the rainbow ringed tunnel. It's brief and that's why they don't have it listed.
I just finished writing a review of "Breaking Away" for an upcoming Buick Fireball issue for the LI Buick Club. It's a great film with an early Dennis Quaid role and it has some good scenes with a gold '70 Skylark.
Ever hear of Blazing Magnum? I was wasting some time over at You Tube and found this chase scene from the movie. Wow those 68/69 4 door Skylarks are pretty good jumpers.
It's a 1968 Special! There is also a 1964 Wildcat hardtop coupe that gets damaged. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7mDXfy2GLA http://www.imcdb.org/movie_74083-Una-Magnum-Special-per-Tony-Saitta.html
Okay since this thread got revived ... kind of. I have a few more to add. Used cars- Has 2 more Centurion verts. A blue & white one drives past the lot as the 250 used cars start ramming the ones that were already there. Im sure its a Buick as its 2 tone blue & white and the paint follows the body line. The convertible that Kurt Russell falls through the roof of is also a Centurion. You may think its an olds ... I did , but if you look at it when the kids get out of it at the lot .... its a centurion. The Blues Bros- As the cops start chasing Jake & Elwood in the first chase scene before they get to the mall, they tear through a big intersection almost hitting a lime green polara. The car behind the polara in that scene is a 70-72 Skylark Celtic Pride- Daniel Stern drives a green boattail The Skulls- The street gang that the main character grew up with use a stolen boattail to help him get his revenge. The Temptations- A made for TV movie several yeras ago. You would never see this Buick unless you were told it was there. The owner of said Buick is a friend of mine and real proud that his 74 Century Luxus was in the movie. In the scene where the Pontiac convertible gets stolen as it drives away it makes a hard left just as its driving right out of the scene. Parked on that corner and very hard to see is my friend Tony's Century. And finally "Mysteries of Pittsburgh"- this movie was shot last year around the burgh. In several scenes are my 77 Limited , my wifes 67 Skylark and Tonys 74 Century. It hasnt been released yet , and Im beginning to doubt it ever will. Dan
After watching "The Departed" last night . I noticed Jack Nicholsons character "Frank Costello" is driven around in a 90s Roadmaster. Good publicity for Buick but if you saw the movie you know it ended badly for the Roadmaster. Dan
I was checking out IMCDB and I can't believe they don't have "Eat My Dust" with Ron Howard driving a 69(?) Camaro or "Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw" which has Marjoe Gortner driving a 69(?) Mustang and Linda "Wonder Woman" Carter looking unbelievable. The reason I bring them up is one of them has a '67 Lesabre cop car chasing them in a few scenes I'm just not sure which. I saw both at the Drive-In back in '76 and both have lots of great cars in them.
There was a movie from the 90's that had somebody giving Roger Moore a ride in a yellow 68 GS and when they stop and he gets out he mentions something about how fast it was!! It wasn't a Bond movie but some other crap. Can't think of the name. Hollywood Knights !! The best .... Tubby's drive-in halloween night 1965 !!! Lots of big names in that flick. The "almond eyes guys" driving the cobra .. dragging at the stop lights. Classic
The new version of "Buddy" is coming out called "Space Buddies", you know about the Golden Retrievers...well i just saw a commercial for it and im pretty sure there was a buick in it, hopefully!!!
I'm not sure about it, there's a chrome moulding on the rocker panel like the '68 model but as far as I know, the 1968 had standard hidden headlights.
New Fast and Furious trailer (2009) - Is that a GN that Diesel is driving when he goes under the flaming tanker that flips over? Also, looks like the "F-Bomb" made it in.... - Bill
There is a movie coming out this year. Its called "Dark Moon Rising" and my 53 is in it. Not rolling but parked with a few other older cars. It might not make the theaters but will be on DVD.:beers2: Bob H.
There is a 70-72 skylark in Scarface behind their impala in the beginning when they are parked along the road. I'm pretty sure thats what it was, there werent any really good shots of it. Jason
