Are the BCA events now and/or in the future likely to be held at venues that have drag strips at or near where the event is held? That would be important to BPG guys, I would think.
Im down with whatever you guys decide. No need for a refund of any dues. In fact if you need donations just let me know. Always glad to help.
You Sir are a true inspiration and I commend you As someone who's been "behind the scenes" for many years .. this truly is a WIN for us all. There are details that need more time to iron out but all in all, I think this is definitely much better than closing shop and hanging the "Gone Fishin" sign on the BPG door. .. and THAT is from someone who never really thought they'd join the BCA
I just always assumed I was welcome wherever I went if I had a Buick. I was never able to figure out all the politics. Come on down to Piedmont dragway in May. Is that BPG, BCA GSCA?? Dunno. Just a bucnh of people with Buicks getting together.
Unfortunately the conversation I had with a few BCA members I met this past summer at a local show sure didn't give me that impression. They stopped short of telling me not to bother bringing my car to their event, but...... THAT SAID, I'm supporting the BPG BODs in knowing that they are making decisions based on the best possible scenario given the situation. I know these guys only want to help promote our hobby, they devote their time doing so (often thanklessly), and they are handling the situation as best they can in the interest of (some form of) the club continuing on in whatever capacity possible. I'll be open to the opportunity and hope "BCA leapers" like myself are welcomed into this new fold. Time will tell, but as of now, I'm all ears. Keep us posted!!
About the middle of North Carolina.. Just south of Burlington NC. It will be an event paired up with the Turbo Buick Nationals. There will be racing, gearheads, and fun for all.
That is in the future as they plan their events years in advance. We are looking at Drag strips close by to their schedule locations. It would not be a track Rental at this point just a bunch of Buick Racers hanging out at the Strip. Remember the BPG is not just about Racing.
again that is what we the BPG and the Current BCA Directors are trying to change. As far as being a leaper...they accepeted the "taxi"... now that is a leapers step child...lol
And I have never been to a BCA event, so I have a hard time wrapping my head around the notion that people take offense when we hot rod our ALL-BUICK ride. We're the BPG; we don't care if they don't like us.
Word from the club Jackass! We could always give them the BPG salute if they get too ornery.
Welcome to the BCA, BPG members, sure there are a few purists that are a little stuffy and turn their noses up at modified Buicks. But we live with them on here, so we can with the BCA. When I won the Gold Award at the Portland National meet I was congratulated by several that weren't into mods. I think the merger will be a good thing and good for the Buick community as a whole. Bob H.
Jim, the Turbo Buick Nationals will be May 4th thru the 7th. Racing will be May 6th and 7th at Piedmont Raceway Park http://www.piedmontdragway.com/. This year they have included the V8 Buicks. Contact John Csordas jr as he is handling the V8 side of this race. http://www.v8buick.com/member.php?21128-jake-csordas Lots of N.E. guys will be there, bring some boys from the south and school us on 1/8 mile racing. :TU:
Nope.. It goes right here IMO.. If we are not all together as one, then I will just buy a chevy. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?304230-new-buick-event&highlight=new+buick+event
I'm not well versed in either the BCA (member) or BPG but I do feel if all car enthusiasts don't band together we risk being legislated out of existence. So, probably a good move.
