I was able to talk to Bobb this evening, he is VERY sore, his jaw seems to be the worst pain that he has right now, he haden't been up walking today, because his feet had been swollen and in pain, said that they would have him up tomorrow. We only talked for a few minutes as he was very tired and his jaw was hurting, but he is in good spirts, he and Amy both are very apprieciative of all the support from friends, and the whole BUICK family! Please keep him in you're thoughts and prayers! Don't be offended if he/Amy doesn't answer if you're to call the hospital, the phone continues to ring but he may be sleeping or in to much pain to chat.

John, sounds like things are looking up for Bobb, and our prayers are working, I've had lots of calls from Michigan Chapter folks asking what they can do and how is Bobb, not necessarily in that order, but everyone in Michigan is ready to help Amy and Bobb, when they get home with anything they need from cutting the grass? if it still needs to be done, to getting the boat ready for winter, to getting the snowblower ready, you name it, we will be at their service to take care of the little things, that they can't even think about right now. The most important thing is that Bobb heals up enough to go home and get comfortable and heal some more, and be with his son, Anthony, that probably misses him more than anything right now, they are a duel that nobody can mess with, and I know that for sure! Having Anthony ride home with me on Sunday, was definitely a learning experience for both of us, he is one smart kid, that knows what he wants, what his parents need, and even more interesting is how to make all that happen, way cool kid, for a 12 yr old!
Go Bobb, get better soon, as you are much needed, both with your family and your Buick Family, Love to all. RV

Prayers coming from ND for a quick and complete recovery! Most of us can likely only begin to imagine the difficulties you are facing today, and for the near future.

Bobb, it sounds like you and the whole family will be in good hands when you are able to travel back home. Could there be a better extended family to belong to, than our Buick family? I think not... :TU:

Roberta, keep us posted when the Paypal deal is ready to go. :Comp:

....just an idea. They eventually have to go home

Someone somewhere in our community has got to know a person that has access to an airplane big enough that could "ferry" them home. Getting in and out of smaller airports is also ALOT easier and usually much closer to both points.

There are even organizations for such things ....pilots donate thier time and planes. I've seen it on Wings channel :Do No:

Im gonna do alittle digging.....maybe someone else can too

Still waiting on the verification from my bank for Paypal, didn't think it would take this long, but they said 3-5 days, I think the Columbus day holiday yesterday probably put a hamper on it, and should go through sometime tomorrow, and will post as soon as that happens, thanks for the support. Alan, I spoke to Amy this afternoon and she is also looking into this. Some sort of "Angel Flights" I think. I am prepared to take them to the airport whenever Bobb is able. :TU:

    They have to go home!

No need to do that, Bobb's sister is a travel agent, and has offered to fly out and help Amy in getting Bobb home. I would think she would have access to any deals concerning issues like this, but thanks for the offer, RV

I'm so relieved to hear that Bobb's condition is improving and looking better, my best wishes to Bobb, Geoff, Amy and Anthony, all of them have shown the utmost hospitality when ever I visit the shop or travel and visit you all in Michigan for the Club events. This just shows how great everyone in the club and Drag Racing in general are toward each other when it matters the most, well done Roberta and John for all you and the others did to help the situation. John and Doug, I'm glad you guys brought up the comments about safety and knowing the track, it's better that it is addressed now then not at all, from my experience working on saftey teams at the Milwaukee Mile, and the former Hales Corners race tracks, I can't preach to you all enough how important a full face helmet and a neck collar are, not to mention 13 years of working in the towing business and seeing alot of really bad wrecks. Imagine if Bobb hadn't done all of the bar and safety upgrades he had? One thing I'm wondering about after this and the deal at Bowling Green a couple of years back, is what is it going to take to get some of these tracks to have at the very least a spotter at the end of the track with radio communication to the tower? better yet some basic fire extinguishing equipment in case a fire were to occur. Way to go for you guys being heads up and paying attention to your peers, hope to see you all soon. Shane

    Just Learned Of the Accident!

Bobb and Amy, I've been in Memphis at the PRO race watching it rain and we finally finished and I got home last night. I had not been on the board today, but Charlie Evans just called to tell me about Bobb's accident. I'm so sorry to hear this. I just called to tell Cindy. We are both praying for Bobb's recovery and for strength for Amy and the family during this time. We will be in touch with you later on with some help.

    In our thoughts

I just learned of this accident today, it's a VERY unfortunate thing! My wife and I extend our most sincere thoughts and prayers for Bobb & Amy. I know that it's easy to say, but you must look on the bright side, as it certainly could have been worse. You may not think it now, but you will some time in the future!

    GET WELL!!!!

    Update on Bobb

Well, I just got back from the hospital visiting Bobb and Amy. Tammy Hart came to stay with Amy while she is in town as well.
Bobb is doing actually very well considering. The doctors determined that his feet were not broken as they thought after his first attempt at walking.
He was up today doing some physical therapy. He was in good spirits and was joking around a lot. Even about his car!
He still has quite a long road to recovery, but he is beginning the journey.

Amy asked me to say thank you all for the well wishes, I am sure that it means a great deal to her.

Amy and Bobb are hopeful that they will be back in Michigan this weekend sometime. :)
