Yes many of the race winners donated some or all of their winnings to the Bobb fund. Randy from Ohio won the gamlers race and donated the $100 purse and thru in an extra $100. Rick Martinez was runner-up and donated his share, then Rick Miller stepped up and before you know it the money tree was growing. Like I said in an earlier post the track owner stepped up and started it off with $200 of his own. I know the car won't be replaced with these donations but it will help with the healing. Airfare home to Michigan won't be cheap and Amy will have to stay in a hotel for the week while she visits with Bobb in the hospital and cab fares etc.
I will keep everyone posted as the news comes in. Thanks again.

    You all are GREAT!

I don't know what to say, but you all did a great deal for Bobb and Amy, I brought their son home with me, today, and was met within minutes by Michigan Buick Guru, Dave Hemker and his daughters, that don't have to go to School tomorrow for teacher's meetings or something like that, and Dave had the day off too, they whizzed Anthony off to go home to Grampa Geof Ketchum and get him to school tomorrow on time. Anthony, Bobb and Amy's son, was way cool and helped us Michigan folks get their trailer loaded with John Stevens racecar, as Bobb's car ended up on the Steven's open trailer, wrapped in 2-10x20 tarps that I had, and alot of duct tape and bungie cords. With Robin driving the suburban with the carnage and John driving the Dodge with Geof's enclosed trailer home. We went to the hospital and got Amy and took her to get some dinner, then the Csordas took her to North East MD, hotel, where she was able to post the message on the web about Bobb's condition. Since then Bobb has talked to Anthony on my cell, as we made our way home. Amy has some new jeans to wear tomorrow thanks to the Csordas. Everyone and their brother has offered assistance, from MI to OH, NY, and NJ and MD. You Buick folks are awesome, Love you all, Amy knows who to call, as she has a page of Buick help, thanks to all, and we from MI, really thank you for all the support, etc. Roberta :3gears: :beer  :Brow: :bglasses:  :Dou: :spank: :3gears: :beer :Smarty: :Do No: :TU:

What a great Community we belong too. The Buick-and-or, Car club related people always do what is right. I am glad to read this , and hear from Amy how lucky she is to have such friends. Speedy recovery BOBB!!, and hang in there AMY, we are there with you in spirit.

And......a note to everyone who races a fast, or slow cars, safety is top priority, this could have been ALOT worse.

:Smarty: Just remember when the Tech guy gives you a hard time about your safety equipment not being up to snuff.....THERE IS A REASON TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY....
My eyes have been opend to how fun can turn to disaster in just seconds...please protect your selves, and others. Play by the rules. :TU:

Prayers are coming from eastern NC as well. I really hope for a speedy recovery Bobb.

If someone will start a donation thread with mailing info. I will be glad to help.

I finished up 4 surgeries last year and even with good insurance there are hotel, food, gas, etc. bills that are not covered by insurance.

Just let your V8 friends help.

Rich, I was afraid that if I didn't get you're attention, that you might just figure that I'd left my car there due to a mechanical problem, we all have lots of things on our minds when racing and some times don't take the time to "look around". Bobbs car was very hard to see from the shutdown/return road. I truly appricate you're help in attempting to rescue my buddy Bobb, he and I are great friends and I was obviously shaken up after after what I had just seen. Thanks again and I hope I can meet you some time under MUCH BETTER circumstances. I'd also like to sincerly thank the other racers that attempted to help, I'm not sure of everyone that was there. The EMTs and track crew deserve a big thanks, as everyone hand'ld the situation in a profesional manner!

Best Wishes, Bobb, Amy and Anthony and expect to hear from me often.

You may be seriously injured Bobb but remember that everything that was broken will heal and that we're all thankful you're not 6 feet under! Hope you heal up real quick!
