ET has nothing to do with whether I respect an import or not. I apply the same yardstick to any car, import or domestic.

If the car is tastefully done, has all systems in balance (engine, suspension, brakes, tires, etc) and doesn't have a bunch of gaudy/silly bolt on crap or bizzarro graphics, then I'm probably gonna' respect it. That being said, I might not like it because the make, model, color, choice of modifications go counter to my personal taste.... but again, if tastefully done I'll at least respect that the owner has chosen to be involved in the car hobby, and has done a respectable job with his/her car of choice.

To each his own. I won't knock anyone in our hobby. Personally I like big-inch, high-torque, slow-turnin' American V8s. Any car, domestic or foreign, can be improved with one. Last fall, some of you may remember that I was thinkin' seriously about a Nailhead in a 1951 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith. It didn't happen, but it wooda been really cool...

My 07 Grand Prix GXP came form the factory like that. 255/45/18 in the front and 225/50/18 in the rear. It is an odd looking combo....very functional though.

Couldn't agree more stagetwo65. Being a fairly young guy (26) I still don't get the whole ricer thing. Love those American muscle cars. Very rarely do they ever get respect from me. Rather see a supercharged front wheel drive regal or monte carlo. Still, nothing like v8 power and American iron.
