Bob..true in a few cases..but I think most of us just like to have fun!! Look at the Masshole Vids and Johnno..lot`s of fun!!! :TU: Later,Tony.
Good enough, click the link below and watch or skip to 2:30 (close) and there is a 20-25 mph romp.....cant hook on the street!!:3gears:
When the Riv is warmed up and in second I will leave soft and then punch it. When the car hits about 30 and shifts gears it will chirp the peg leg pretty good. I have surprised a few ricers as I don't punch it off the line, but still catch up, chirp and pass- all in a ol' Buick Boattail (full weight). THAT feels cool..:TU: If you're not doing it through the schoolyard, what's the prob?:beer
So I take the T (brand new Firestone Firehawks) out this morning to dust it off and run over to an A/C parts house to pick a small piece I need for a job. The place is packed with service vehicles and guys all over and just about everyone from the warehouse standing on the dock. I park it and some guy on the dock says "is that thing as bad as it sounds"? I just say yea and go in. I come out and there are a bunch of guys all over it. We talk smack for a few minutes and some guy baits me with "it's only a V-6 guys how bad can it be". I decide to take the bait and aim it in the right direction. Fortunately this is an industrial park with all kinds of room and no danger of hitting anything or anyone appearing suddenly out of no where. I cheat and hit the line lock. I build just a few pounds of boost and the car picks up on the suspension and begins ever so slowly spinning the tires on just part throttle. All the while this slow, low squeal begins coming from the hides and the smoke starts out the rear fenders. I slowly push the pedal down and the turbo whistle gets real, real loud now as the tires begin spinning hard. I let the engine hit 5000 rpms and shift to second. I have to interject here that I think V-6's sound sick! I wish I had the Stage 1. The cloud is huge now and I turn the line lock off and floor it. The boost goes to 20# and car ever so lazily moves forward sliding gently to the right and I keep her going straight with the steering wheel cocked over a bit for about 50 yards. She is beginning to build speed now so I let off, coast to the end of the lot and stop to look back at my handiwork. I can hear the guys cheering but can't see anyone for the smoke. There is no breeze at all, the air is absolutely still and the cloud doesn't move. There is a body shop at the end of the lot and they are standing in the open doors to see what all the noise is. A guys gives me a thumbs up as I take off. Man these new Firestones can make some smoke! Mikey
What surprises me here is that there are 23 'no' votes I love to do burnouts whenever I get a chance. What I don't like and have never understood is sitting still with a foot on the brake while spinning the tires just for the sake of making smoke. What is that? o No: Any car could do that. And I completely understand not wanting any tirespin off the line at the track. I like to just tromp on it and start spinning, most of the time from a punch, and then get a nice loud chirp in 2nd. Now that's fun, I don't care who you are
I got a $800 ticket for chirping the tires in my truck when changing to second gear! I was not even speeding.... I even went to court and fought it... Lost anyways... Yeah, they call it stunting here and although it is BS they do what they want.
My contribution I get a lot of good hearted ribbing for my burnouts, but over the last two years I've learned that this thing needs a really good burnout to hook hard off the line without spinning.
I got a warning for this ...but mine was a one wheel peel from an intercetion before the merging infront of a tunnel...and probably 100plus feet to where i needed to be lmao.. i had 215-60s on the rear tires at the time btw they call it eccesive acceleration here
Thanks to all of the dim witted ricers we get down here the punishment for burnouts is extreme. Under the new "boy racer" laws you get your car impounded (like to see them try tow the riv with the pathetic trucks down here), your license suspended, massive fines and even court. I hardly do it for the fear alone, even though its very easy.
Never understood the fascination with burnouts myself. Hondas can do burnouts so I don't know exactly hat it proves other than prematurely wearing out your tires. o No:
Speaking of rubber burning...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tNj7HG5Ow4&feature=fvw :3gears: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears:
How much harder will it make it to do a burnout with 255/60/15 tires on? With a skylark that has a 350 with stock internals in it...no posi
