Nope..... I'm leaving for Canada on Monday morning so I figured I would spend Sunday at home wit hthe wife, kids, and Steeler game. Honestly, I was only at the drags so my buddy could benchmark his '84 Camaro against my LT1 since it is bone stock. Since that day, he has ported his heads, replaced the cam/intake/carb/exhaust, and made a few other mods. We weren't able to go to Zeli a few weeks ago because we were putting new motor mounts in his car. I am hoping to get to the October event at Zelienople....
Hey Joe, I like the whitewall's and doggies. What time does the event start in Zeli. I'm off that weekend and might try to make it down to watch.
Looking at that picture reminds me how Flat the ground is here in MN. Last time I was out there it was Dark when I got there and Dark when I left. My Wife was born in McKeesport, hopefully I will get to visit again soon.
Dave I have seen your GS at Caste a bunch of times ... sweet car. I live in Brookline and my kid goes to school in Shannon.... St Annes. Next time I see your car at Caste Ill have to come up and say hello. I was at the flashlight drags a bunch of times but not with the Buick. I had a 72 Dodge Dart that I ran at the flashlight drags.Ill post a picture of it in a couple of minutes. Dave you might remember it ... I had it down Caste a bunch of times too. Dan
Nope! Those goofy pillar cars had vent windows in 71. I put the whitewalls on to attract some action. It gets boring up here in the wilderness. However, a 72 Chevelle SS just moved into the neighborhood. Got to ride in it this morning. We may have a contender, but not really.
Well Ive got the 77 Buick stored for the winter at believe it or not .... a local Chrysler dealer. 50 a month for heated storage, figured I cant beat that. Im waiting on a friend of mine with a rollback to pick up the Cat where I have her stored and bring it over to my house , so I can start getting it ready for spring. Last time I started her up the brake pedal went to the floor, so I think Im going to be starting with the brakes. In the meantime my son and I have started working on our train layout again. Nothing fancy just a couple of O gauge trains on a sheet of plywood. I have my Lionel engine and one of my Marx engines in getting repaired right now and we plan on expanding the layout and reinforcing the platform a little bit. Damn toy trains are heavy. We also plan on adding a shelf for the transformers. If all else fails there are always the slotcar tracks up in the basement at the hobby shop. Or there is always the fact that all 3 of my daily driver cars come due for inspection at the end of February and 2 of them right now arent going to pass. The Impala needs a tire and a tie rod end. The pickup needs new rear shocks and a muffler. Also some of the cruise guys are planning on getting together a few times over the winter at one of the places that we go in the summer . But I havent heard any of the details yet Think Im gonna be pretty busy this winter:idea2: . Dan
hey that's cool, how about i'm still driving my buick ou: truck is going to be down for another 3 weeks or so.. The newly acuired 64 lesabre is at the frame shop.. will be picking that up in about 2 weeks and then dropping it off at my brothers highschool bodyshop. it'll hopefully be there all winter LOL hopefully by the 1st week of december i can put the lark away for the winter!
HI there -- I am in Pbgh -- just moved here. And, I have a 66 lark. Would be great to link up with this group. LEt me know what's going on. Danielle
hey I am from the burgh but in the army.. so I am stationed down at fort campbell ky... but I go back a lot.. I am up in lower burrell past harmar... so when I get out I will be in the area again.. whenever I am done with uncle sam...
Sweet! Two more Buick people in the Pgh area. Now I need some Buick people where I live. A friend of mine has an 87 GN, but he doesn't do much with it. So I'm the only Buick guy. It's a good thing I'm also into Ford truck's, or I'd be lonely.
Welcome to Pittsburgh. Starting in May there is a car cruise every Sunday evening at Caste Village Shops. There are many Buicks there along with others. Dave
Thanks Dan now i'll be able to make it through the winter. Great Picture. Hope to see you again at the drags. Dave
Damn!! See what I missed! I wish I would've went. But at least I had fun at the Clarion event. Only a couple of Buicks besides mine and I raced both. The only car that gave me any competition though was a 4 speed Nova. I did get blown away by a crotch rocket though. He was even doing wheelies.
I've seen a few Buick motors and parts on Pittsburgh Craiglist. Check it out. http://www.pittsburgh.craigslist.com Dave
Funny reading all the comments from Da Berg guys. I'm from Scranton/Wilkes Barre. No local Buick club chapter up here but a lot of nice Buicks. Have 3 myself. Went to an early spring Buick swap meet off the turnpike a couple years back, thought it would be good but weather killed it.
