I'd say muscle it back if he won't budge, but first you don't want enemies in the neighborhood you live in. Not too fun to bump into the wrong person when you're alone if you played it tough when you were a bunch of guys. Just play it cool until it doesn't get you anywhere.. Better to have the law do the muscling if you can choose.

Try to work out a deal....If that does not work, get a lawyer.

Better yet take a lawyer with you in plain clothes.

I guess in a way it's good that it's outside. If it was in and burried or blocked I'd have more to deal with. I know if I tell him I want to come get it, he will put it inside.
One reason I don't want to continue my relationship is that he's a lying SOB. Twice now he was lied about whether it was covered or inside.
The first time after a big snow I got a hold of him and he said it was covered. Took off work and went up there and it had a foot of snow on it and uncovered. He seems to think it was funny. :spank:
Then later he said it was inside and working on it. Went up there again and it was outside with a couple flat tires. Hadn't budged in quite some time.

Why would I want to have a lying SOB do my car at this point anyway?
Another tip off is his employees....they hang their heads and don't make eye contact with me when he's feeding me the bull about how he plans to work on it.....but won't put ANYTHING in writing.

The really sad part is that he does start it up to move it in. When he does I'm sure he is not nice to that 455 with 113 cam and 4 yr old gas.....

Well no more bellyaching.....next week is it. I guess if he won't give up the key and I can't find mine. I'll have to use a floor jack to line it up to the trailer and pull the lever out of the trans.
Seriously if it doesn't work out....I may want to round up a posse.
FREE BEER at my place after (if sucessfull)!!! Burnouts encouraged!

with all your paperwork in hand, and if u anticipate problems with the bodyshop, speak with your local police and ask that an officer accompany/meet u at the bodyshop so that u can retrieve your vehicle.

Good luck Bruce, if I live closeby to you I'd come along to help....maybe you should rent a uhaul trailer dolly and just jack up the rear, set it down, and pull it home......I would want to high tail it outa there as fast as I could! :3gears:

How I would do it. Cop in plain clothes (off duty and a friend preferred) waiting outside in truck+trailer along with a "few" guys. Go in, say you want the car this moment, he says yes, take the car, no problem. He says no, go and get friends from car, come back inside and tell him that we're taking the car. If he tries to get in your face, you have the cop there to tell him to back down. If he takes it further, the 5-10 big guys that are standing behind you will make him back down. Is this anywhere near southeastern wisconsin? I could round up a few scary looking guys. :Brow:

Way to step up Al :beer :TU: :beer

Do you know Bruce ?? If not, He is one of the most decent, nicest guy's I've met in all my Buick Years. I've always looked foward to seeing him at events and spending some time with him

Bruce - there is no shame in asking for help. You're in a situation where friends' standing behind you means alot. The intent is NOT for it to get ugly and you have a much better chance of success driving up there with a few car-loads of guys just watching to makes sure you are all right

Something else to consider is a "bribe" to get your car. Offer him $100 so he can go out and have some fun tonight on you. Your way of saying "Thank You" for watching over your car all these years. It may be bitter to actually hand him More money, but consider it from his side - whatever money you've paid him in the past is Loooong gone. Today, you're asking for something and offering nothing in return - the "bribe" will make him feel like he's getting something.

Also, paint the conversation as rosey as possible. "Im sure you never had intentions of it taking this long, and I dont blame you at all .... "

    Color Choice

Bruce, thats not to bad, in 1970 they had a ton of colors available. The trouble with that color is it doesn't hold up well, like shades of red. Do you have a color chip for 1970? There were some real neat shades of blue out that you rarely see. AL.

Thanks man....I think we can get it. Going to tell him I need a price to complete it and a date....IN WRITING!!!!I might have him finish but something smell bad......
The stickler is going to be how much $$$ he wants to take it away.....that's where it might get ugly. I've paid $4K to have him put floorboard and rear qtrs on that I supplied. I wouldn't think I need to give up more dough.....but we'll see.

    It's east of Hanover.
