I'll have to get some pictures some other time then. Everything around here's pretty cluttered and I'm a little sick and not up for much of a drive today.
Well I talked to the owner of the shop today. He said that the pictures would be full color and he could do a collage on the back of the shirt with several cars. It basically would look like photos on the shirt, with the wording 68-69 Stepchild Nation in an arc over the pictures. Cost would be $25 per shirt unless I can order more than 30 at once. But then the cost goes down to $20 per shirt. The samples showed me looked good. He also wanted to know if I could get him the pics in a Vector file? So that is where this is at. Price seems steep but then again not too bad considering what it is. I just need to find a nice color shot of a 69 GS Hint Hint Alan. I saw a shot of Big Red at the beach that looked Super nice, but I can't remember where it was. So if we can get 29 people who would want one of these then We could get them shipped to the door in the lower 48 for $25 I have no Idea if shipping to Canada is alot more or not. I wouldn't think so.
Chris, If you have someone who can make the collage of images for you, using Photoshop, you can upload them to Zazzle.com and everyone can order their own shirts, mugs, etc... and choose whether or not they want a basic t-shirt, a fancy t-shirt, which color, or a hoodie - all using the same design. I've done a few of them.
Steve Are the shirts made with Zazzle.com silkscreened? The shirts that I saw today, the images were silkscreened using a 4 color process. I'm working on the image this week with photoshop. If I can find time to play with it.
I don't know if they're actually silkscreened. Whatever they do it's such that they can be done on demand in quantities from 1-??? The main cost with silk screening is the original design of the template for the process. After that, the costs are pretty cheap. But I'm guessing Zazzle's are all automated. Here are some extreme close-ups of the shirt I made. Unfortunately it's Grayscale so I don't have a color one to compare with. The shirt used was the high cost one with the microfiber (It's a Hanes "soft L'ink" shirt, with the outer surface of 100% micropolyester and the inner surface 100% cotton. It almost looks like they were dyed. But the detail is pretty good. The text was created using fingerprint ridges. The letters are only about 3/4" tall and you can even see the pores in the ridges. When I run my fingers across the surface, I can't feel the design stand out from the feel of the fabric alone. One thing I did notice is that this shirt does have a crease going across the neckline from whatever machine was used for the image. It's almost like when you iron a crease into something, but it's remained with about 10 washes.
I have some sweet shots of my 69 with the top down at the park with not much in the background (nice sunnny South Florida day). I'll post them tonight .... what size pic is best to post for this purpose?
Guys you know how i hate the 68/69 cars....p I ahve a lot of photos i have taken just let me know what you need. I was a professional photographer fro 20 years, i can alos work with photoshop. David R
Chris, I sent you a few pictures from the park. They were large so i hope your hotmail account is somewhat empty!!
Should see the artwork for it next week. I'm having the place next to my work do it because I don't have the photoshop skills to work with it yet.
Chris, Email me the hi-res images you have to use for the design. I can play with it some. seeverist at earthlink.net
Nice :TU: How about changing the wording alittle to either 1968 / 1969 BUICK StepChild Nation or '68 BUICK '69 StepChild Nation ... I also like this picture of my car torqued up and a hint of daylite under the front left :Brow:
