Ummmm OK Lets see, The last time I checked aluminum corrodes the same as steel. I'll bet in 50 years that aluminum box will be toast.

 

Aluminum does form an oxide, but unlike iron oxide (rust), aluminum oxide is protective rather than corrosive. It's what anodized aluminum is, aluminum with an artificial layer of aluminum oxide.

 

I have been figuring that one up myself. Guess I will be 78. Hope I make it, but the way I feel these days I wouldn't bet. LOLou:
