    That's pretty cool!

I think I want to put my hair in a time capsule - it really looks good today.

I've been waiting for years to see this come out of the ground!
Not since '57, but a few years anyways.

I'm betting moisture has made it's way to it and has done damage though.
    We'll see.

Re: 57 Plymouth Burried in Time capsule

Kinda ironic that they picked a Plymouth to represent the cars of their time, and today Plymouth has been dead for years.

I'd like to do that with my EX wife....Oh wait...We can use a wooden box and stuff her in the ground..Maybe we can dig it up in 50 years though....NO capsule needed.:Brow: :Brow:

Yeah, and somewhere on that site it says it was found years later that the '57s were especially prone to rust. I bet it's a big pile of rust when they dig it up.

Im from Tulsa. My dad always drove Plymouths. I think its accurate of the era there. Not everyone was involved in the "Oil Capital of the World"

It's probably in better shape than a 72 Galaxie 500 would be.

I believe I read awhile back that the car was wrapped with a combination of plastic and some sort of cosmolene (is that how you spell cosmolene?) or grease. Then it was put in the concrete tomb. I don't know if the car is greased or if the plastic is greased or what. I'll be there for the whole event so I guess I'll find out then. Brian

Cool story. I wonder how it will turn out.

Isn't this the same car that was in the movie "Christine"?

wouldent it be funny if they opent the capsule and theres nothing there. Sad but funny. I read how they will determine who gets the car, dosent seem like a good way to determine a winner. Sounds like a great envent to go see but I live too far to go hope its televised.

    Even after 50 years, it's still going to be a "57 Plymouth"...:boring:

Too bad they didn't choose a '57 Chevy! :Brow:

Did you see there is an unpaid parking ticket in the glovebox? What do you want to bet the ticket is going to cost more than the value of the car :pp

    Brian,
You know that we will want pictures of everything. I'm not going back to Ft. Sill just for this. (Not even for Temporary Duty). So take lots and lots of pictures...

if it survived and is in prestine shape off to barret jackson it would go next year, it should bring a pretty penny, at least enough to pay off a mortgage i would think.

I think it's interesting that they put a comma in 2007. 2,007. WAY far into the future back then.
