Are these two Buick race cars still around? If so, are they going to be in BG this year? The pictures are from the 1987 GSCA Nats.

I have held back putting a bunch of cars down in writing because i dont want to give myself or Derek, Dave or Doug any type of headache when someone says i advertised someone to attend and for whatever reason they did not attend due to any number of reasons. Quite a few guys are thrashing last minute with motors, chassis, cages, etc. Will probably be up till the week of the Nats. Kind of how it used to be in the events prime time days of late 80s and early 90s. Lets hope for good weather and closer to the time i will do some name dropping for cars and what not. I imagine quite a few will not reply but attend the event as well. I am hoping everyone and anyone will come out of the wood work. i plan on going through phone calls this Friday all day to get ahold of everyone and anyone.

Mike not sure on Ghost Hunter car, who owned it? Todd Barreth GT Performance car is sitting in Calgary in a barn withering away almost since that picture was taken. A whole lot more to the story i can tell you in person at BG.

The aftermath......I think Derek and Tony will agree with me, and hopefully so will the racers and spectators who attended, that the 25th Anniversary Reunion of Super 16 was quite a success! We ran our butts off and I can't thank those guys enough! I mostly did what I usually do with S-16 signups and organizing things as best I can, and as always happens after a week in Bowling Green, I was ready to collapse by the time I towed my load 900 miles home.
Derek and Tony made every effort to make S16 25 special and they helped me out tremendously on raceday, pairing up the combatants and running up to the tower. Nancy Csordas helped me out as usual by handing out the Super 16 tee shirts... which, by the way, turned out just beauty,eh Derek?
With a bump spot of 9.53, this was the quickest field of Buick S16/Q16 I've ever seen or heard of, at this or any other event. A few wrinkles kept it from being even quicker.
Alan Cunningham had tow vehicle troubles and had to turn around and head back home. He's already run very low 9s in his Somerset.
Rick Martinez' motor is a couple of weeks from being back together and he runs low 9s as well. He came down anyway and took a ton of beautiful pictures! It was great to have him back in BG and he'll definitely have his car there next year.
Frank Oliva's Somerset is a couple of months away from completion and with his Tomahawk mill installed, next year he'll be down low as well.
My own 560" Tomahawk wasn't quite ready and even though it should run 8.60s or so once it's back in the car, I was #18 with a 9.61 and only got in when Danie' Kendall's Skyhawk wouldn't start and #17 Bobb Makely had already told me he was out with mechanical troubles as well.
Right there you have four cars that would have pushed the bump even lower. I'm quite sure there were some others out there that thrashed but couldn't get it together in time.
I want to thank our Super 16 premiere sponsor, Finishline Motorsports, for throwing in $1,000 each and every year. Finishline also pays for the S16 tee shirts! Thanks Bobb, Geoff, and Amy!
Much gratitude as well goes to the Buick Performance Group, Precision Billet Design, HrPartsNstuff, East Coast Buick Regionals, SD Lyons (Schwag), Stage1 Auto, TA Performance, and the Northeast GS/GN Club. We couldn't do it without their financial support.

Great job to all involved! How are you going to top it for next year? We had a great time and it was awesome running Mike Modena in the finals. Congrats to Mike on the big win and all the participants for making the trip to BG! That late day cool weather caused many guys to breakout like we did. And yes Doug that 965 mile ride home was LONG!
