Man I feel your pain. I'm currently in the same boat. I'm still having surgeries to try and fix the nerve damage and have been off now for a year and a half. :(

Middle school teacher. Grades 6,7,8 and I love it. I have over 30 years and intend on going for at least another 5. I run a program called Technical Education. My students work in pairs investigating various areas of technology. We have things like a CNC mill and a wind tunnel. They can do video production, graphic design and my favorite, waste management (you can always get a job dealing with ****.) At any given time I can have 18 different lessons going on at once :eek2: Fortunatly I love chaos. Even had a few of the old guys kids for students many years ago.

My wife owns a retail store in Frankenmuth MI. She is the Buicks offical sponser.

I'm a regular old boring auto mechanic at an independent shop. The pay stinks in my area. Trying to wrangle my way out of the shop and into owning my own high perf street car business. Lots of people asking for it, but money to start a serious shop is non existant at the moment.

No Buick stuff:ball: .........yet... I'm working on convincing them( they have listened)..if anything it will be the A-bodies first.:Brow:

If anything I have access to just about anything made for restoration on a Buicks or can find at least a supplier who knows, some of the A-bodies from 64-74 have parts that interchange, been working on that part of it my self.

    What's a grip?

OK, I'm a grip in the film business. I work mainly on commercials and TV. Movies can be fun but the 12-14 hr days 5-6 days a week for months gets old quick and its a very physical job so it can really wear you out.

Grips I guess "shape" and "control" the light with flags and various types of diffusion. We are also responsible for camera movement such as the dollies and track or camera cranes that you may have seen. We also do a lot of rigging putting lights or cameras in places that they were never intended to go.

Car rigging is one of my favorite things to do. Rigging cameras and lights on cars is a real challenge and the race cars are a lot of fun. I've got to do alot with NASCAR (even got to ride 5 laps at 160 MPH) but I really hope to do some Drag racing stuff some day.

I've only been in it for 7 yrs. and at 44 yrs old its the first job that I've actually enjoyed. However, because of the physical nature of the job, I can only see myself doing it for maybe 10 more years so I need to figure out what's next:Do No:

I have had only two "real" jobs , first at 19 I was an MP with the 82nd Airborne Div. for three years and the day I got out I landed a job working in the Office of Photography as an official photographer for the U.S. House of Representatives in Wash. DC. I have been here 17 years and have met the last five Pres. and travled on Official congressional delagations all over the world, that's been kinda cool. But it's now getting kinda old
