I am a mechanic for Greenville Utilities. It is an easy job where everyone gets along fine and the practical jokes keep us the busiet. I may work on a backhoe one day and a trailer the next. It is never dull with so much different stuff to work on, like Gopher and wood chucks!

I'm currently employed (without pay) as a maid, homework assistant, mother, wife, cook, lawn care and landscaper, and general handy person. Yep, I quit my regular job in June after 12 years of service. I love being home with my kids all day, but the pay really sucks.

As the saying says above my avatar.....I need a job :)

Before I couldn't even spell engineer and now I are one!

Consulting electrical engineer. I work for a large employee owned engineering/architecture firm. That's right, I'm my boss. Sort of...

I get to study and design building electrical, lighting, security, fire alarm, and computer network systems. I've done everything from schools to big box retail, university, light commercial, parking garages, street lighting, heavy power, and I'm sure something new will come up next week.

    I'm boooorrrrrring.....

I've worked for 31 years for an industrial risk insurance company, downtown Chicago, in various capacities through the years. Still a number-cruncher, basically. One of the unexpected perks was meeting my husband 22 years ago. We insure the property of lots of the big companies like General Motors, Best Buy, Michaels, etc. Company was bought by GE back in '99 and now we REALLY have to jump through hoops.

Hoping for a severance one of these days, and then maybe get a job locally and that's fun. Sigh.

For now I'll just keep on

    :Comp: :Comp:

  12. Past 14 yrs with same company, first as inventory control supervisor, which quickly grew to include system admin functions as well. Ag-related parts and supplies distributor. Great place to work, good bosses, but unfortunately there are 4 owners, so the "pie" gets split up into too many pieces, so the pay scale suffers somewhat.

We're looking to possibly relocate in the next couple years, or sooner maybe.

I bang my head against a wall all day,
working for a printing company as a manager.

I got into printing 11 years ago after doing a little of everything.
Went to trade school for welding back in 1980, got my certification, and then never went into the field.
    Done some machine shop work.
    (Too much repetition)

All my friends said I should have become a mechanic, since I love cars so much. I didn't want to work on other peoples cars all day though.

I quite frankly still don't know what I want to do when I grow up!
