Yup, I get paid to camp, hike, cook outdoors, all that fun stuff.
And yup, there are people in Scouting who actually get paid real money (oh yeah, and lots of it, really!!! )

Actually, I get paid to raise $$$, start new Packs/Troops/Crews, recruit and train volunteer Scout leaders, and make sure everything in 8 counties is going like it's 'supposed' to.

No two days have ever been alike, but working late nights, nearly every weekend, and all summer can be a real drag.

But at least I get to say that I work for an organization that proudly discriminates! (better not go there, lawyers may be lurking nearby...):Dou:

    Be Prepared!

Trooper in the Michigan State Police. Work in the Detroit, Michigan area. What we call a target rich enviroment. Work third shift and wouldn't have it any other way. Nothing but cops and robbers at 3:00am. Before becoming a Trooper, I worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 8 years at FCI Milan, Michigan. Its as bad as you think. Before breaking the law, tour a large prison. Before that, was a soldier in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman. Went to Desert Storm, got out and joined the Michigan National Guard. Waiting for second free trip to Iraq any day. What a mess over there. Proud to be an American and proud to serve my country.

Farming sounds like it would be a great gearhead job. I don't know much about farming, but I figure when it isn't planting or harvest time you probably have some free time to work on your cars. It always seems like farmers have a barn full of old cars.

Yes, I am counting down the day's. 20 years has gone by very quickly. I just hope I am ready when I finally walk out of the gate and into the real world. The hardest thing will be figuring out what to wear everyday.

I'm an over the road truck driver. I've been doing it since 1997 with three of those years as an owner operator. I've witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm looking to further my involvement in this field sometime in the future.
