2 Cars and rigs STOLEN in Bowling Green last night !!! Unfortunately someones GSCA fun has been ruined and I'm sure he is in for a whole lot of crap he never imagined would come his way....... http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=421877
When the N.E. Chapter goes to our event at Cecil County we hire an off duty cop to stay in the hotel parking lot overnite. It's $20 a car for the whole weekend and I sleep like a baby knowing my property is safe !
I know this may be to late but we leave one of our cell phones in our car and we have family locator on them. it's free for your phone and as long as the phone is opn and you have signal it works. I tuck it under the seat cover on my race seat. I recommend this to every one even by a throw away phone to keep in the car.
I agree with tufbuick..Hire a security guard and sleep well knowing the car/truck/trailer/personal effects will be there in the morning. According to the article, this guy lost his lap top, tools and everything. Unfortunately, the scum of the earth prey on this kind of stuff and deserve a good beating if/when they get caught. (I have no tolerance for thieves) I'm sorry to hear about this, I hope they find these cars. Mike
It's getting worse friends. There may be as many as 5 rigs stolen last night. We have confirmed 2 so far. But there is talk a couple more taken.. Will update when we get more info. Jeff Rodeck's GN was also stolen along with a 3 car trailer.
dont know if it would help but i just called news channel 5 and hopfully they will run a spot about them man i cant belive up to 5 rigs stolen I CANT STAND A THIEF i hope this has a good turn out but it sounds bad scott
Where was the three car trailer parked? There was one in the Hilton parking lot this morning when I left at 2:00am. I always check out the parking lots when I'm leaving that early just in case. I didn't see anything going on over at the Holiday Inn parking lot. But there was a handful of unsavory looking guys hanging around outside of the Waffle House at 2:15am when I stopped for coffee. The one main reason I don't want to haul my car to any of these events..If they did manage to steal my car, they would have to deal with me still sitting in the front seat. I can't believe the hotels etc wont set up security for the people who attend thir places yearly as a good gesture... I would be livid if my complete rig was stolen, but I would be out near it at all times as I am anal about anyone getting near my car..I am still having issues with leaving my car at the chassis shop in the next week or so to have the cage installed..
Here is an up to date photo of the complete set up taken in route to BG Alert! STOLEN CAR, CASH REWARDFOR THE RECOVERY of this car, trailer and truck. Billy T,s 1987 8 second GN was stolen from the holiday inn, Bowling Green Kentucky early sunday morning 10/23/2011. If anyone one has seen this truck, trailer and car traveling out of Bowling Green, please call the Bowling green police at, 1-270-393-2473, or email Billy T at GNXTC2@AOL.com.
Just got to Clarion Pa staying the night. John C called at 630 AM in case Billy needed a ride home. By the time we got there he was on the road. Stuff like this sucks!
This makes me sick to hear about this. I would puke if our rig was stolen. I think Rod would jump in front of the next semi going by. (I could be wrong.. he might find it as his way out p ) I did notice that all of the rigs stolen seem to be OPEN trailers. It might as well be a billboard. When we are leaving the track half of the cars still have their ET's in the window. You might as well just write in the window.. "Hey.. I have a lot of expensive parts on this car". We usually sleep in our trailer when we go on racing weekends, but I'm thinking I'm going to look into some kind of a boot for the trailer. Way to much to lose and insurance isn't going to cover half of it. I wish the best of luck to you guys on recovering your toys. Danie'
It is so unfortunate that this happened. People who do things like this will never have anything unless they steal it from us. I left my car at the track while I was down there, and I worried about it the whole time. but maybe it was safer that way. If the GSCA wants people to keep attending after hearing about the stolen cars, then they should help by encouraging people to leave their cars at the track and setup some kind of security. I will not return until something is done to help prevent this from happening.
If that many were stolen at the same time....well informed group and they are organized....sad to say...but they may have a crew that has them already stripped for parts and maybe even qtr for scrap. Guess the best bet is to have a car immobilizer working when attending these events.....a cheap kill switch for the ignition and/or fuel pump set-up may have prevented this but who knows how determined they are to get them. :blast:
This makes me sick to my stomach:rant: !! I really hope these guys get nailed and the rigs get returnedray: .
