The Aztek has to be the ugliest thing of all time. It looks like a miniture trash truck. AMC has always had some bad ones. The Matador they have shown is NOT the ugliest Matador. I don't remember the year but there is one uglier. http://images.businessweek.com/ss/07/08/0824_uglycars/index_01.htm?campaign_id=yhoo Notice there are no Buicks in the lineup. Rick
If I'm thinking what your thinking, this is the ugly Matador. How about that Mercury Merkur from the 80's?
There's 1 or 2 that arent that bad....i've seen worst lately coming out of dealers and they cost $20K +
PACER! It looks like a 70's substance induced vision of what the future might hold for the Pinto, but with a big fat ass! The Chevy Avalanche looks like a Transformer that doesn't quite look right as a vehicle. I keep waiting to see one jump off the road and bust out some Jackie Chan moves on a minivan but so far no luck. It's like the engineers wanted it done and gave up halfway through the design process. The new ones don't look as bad, I'm talking about the old ones with the big ghetto plastic side panels.
The first Toyota Camrys really puke me out.A real basic box design.Any Deawoo. Most Kia vehicles. Most Hyundai vehicles.60's Rambler 4 doors.'79-'90 Ford Crown Vic-ugly boxes.Early Fox body mustangs.Yuck!'80-'82 T-birds.Another no style box. '70's Matador 4drs are quite ugly. The 2 dr isn't so bad. All the Dodge K-cars,but they did save Chrysler. I am sure there are many more...
I had a '75 Plymouth Wagon that looked like a cross between an ambulance and a motorhome. I nominate almost all mid '70s cars, in fact I'd add almost every Mopar too!
This brings to mind what I've said for years. Since the '70s, cars have no "personality." They're all the same. Remember when every year there was a sheet metal change? Not the grill, but the whole front cap? And very few years it ALL changed. Geez! You could ID a car make by certain design elements, you didn't have to look close to read the name. It would seem that every designer has had a labotomy...
VW rabbit pick-up diesel. French cars Peugeot and Citroen - I hate those freaking cars, I'll walk thanks. Ambassador at the French embassy in NY answers the phone: " Ellow, Fwench Embassy, We Surwender" :moonu: :bla: 1960-69 T birds :moonu:
How about those Caddy's that were angled off at the trunk lid. I think they were mid '80s Sevilles......There was a Cutlass that was similar too. Brian
We called those the German Third Reich cars. You know the one Hitler rode around in with the funky trunk. Yeah those were ugly. Rick
There was a jacked up Dodge 4x4 trunk on the freeway the other day that had large block letters on the tailgate that said HUMMER RECOVERY VEHICLE - UNIT # 569 It was hilarious. Rick
the olds cutlass with the angled trunk lid was called the cutlass salon they're not that bad looking, I was given one free for cleaning out a 30x60 shed. I'm going to create a real sneaky sleeper out of it the caddy one had a different shape to the back of it, not like the cutlass, or buick century versions had
the gremlin, pacer, matadore. some of the old chryslers that had the dual headlights that angled inwards.
I like the early 80's "bustleback" Sevilles, but the dwarf '86 seville and Eldorado were sure ugly. The '86 Riv was much better and the Toronado was the best looking one on that platform. They were still very junky, fall apart cars. I had a 1986 Toronado. That was the junkiest, fall apart GM car I ever owned. I loved the way it rode and the gas mileage was great. But ,the door trim/panels fell apart, the whole dash came apart.I mean you could literally pull the dash assembly away from the cowl! The Bose radio worked when it wanted to.The p.windows worked when they wanted to.The moonroof worked ,unless you had it open and it would start to rain-then it would go AWOL. The electronic a/c system worked sometimes, but never, when the windows were up. The car was used, but it only had 70K miles on it! One of the ugliest Buicks ever made has to be the '63 Skylark. The front end reminds me of a Rambler design.
