    One I can relate to!

    Hi Dan,
Although I have never even considered suicide, I could relate plenty to "Lane Myers". My favorite line is when he backs into his boss at the light and he says, "I'm gonna activate your dental plan." But there are too many good one liners to cover them all. My two favorite scenes were the Christmas morning Aardvark suits and the burgers dancing. We aren't alone in liking this one, I just read tons of reviews and even the critics loved it. One gave it 5 :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer Beers!

Pictured here is the famous drag racing scene, "One speaks no English at all, the other speaks Howard Cosell".

    Movie was good!

    Movie was good! Book Better!
Two scenes I loved in the movie-the opening assembly line with George's Bad to the Bone and the "Shut your pie-hole" in Darnell's garage. I have a picture I took of the Charger "Dennis" later drove at a Car Craft West Coast meet, on the Pomona fairgrounds, before the movie was made.

    Ahh Yes! Christine!
One fact that didn't get past Stephen King was that all '57 and '58 Furys were only painted in a cream colored paint.
    Except Christine! :Brow:

Wish our cars could heal themselves!

    Re: My top picks...

Greg, I saw that this fourth of July weekend. We had a "white trash drive-in" at my friend's place about two blocks away.

Took a ratty old hatch back, opened the hatch, put the TV and DVD player in it, then got lawn chairs and watched it in their driveway. Also saw "Buttcrack", another Troma film. Mojo Nixon was in it, but it was awful. So awful i do not recommend seeing it or even mentioning the name of the film out loud. Cat Man was also on the playlist, but I missed it.

That's true, Christine was the first book that I read entirely...

The assembly line scene in the movie was quite impressive too!
The 58 Plymouths are among the nicest cars that were produced by the Chrysler corporation. The two other Chrysler products I like are the 1957 New Yorker and 300 and the 68 Charger (like the one Dennis drove in the movie).

The movie would have been even better if, instead of the Fury, Stephen King had selected a 1959 Invicta as Christine!

I know a movie no one on here mentioned. My wife reminded me of it.

Vanilla Sky had a, I believe it was a 1970 Buick GS that they ran off a bridge and totaled it. When my wife and went to see that movie (Tom Cruise's worst movie ever) I said a little louder than I usually would "How could they wreck such a good car??" Thanks to my wife for remembering this movie

Go that way, really fast, if something gets in your way - turn.

Speaking of Better Off Dead, I went to see it at the theatre with a friend. We didn't take my Camaro because, as usual, it wasn't running.

After that one race, back in the school parking lot, Lane said "If only my Camaro were running..."

My friend and I almost fell on the floor laughing, because I always said that.

The girl in front of us said "It wasn't that funny."

We told her that she had to be there.
