I'm gonna try to keep the mice out of it while I cut the rear quarters and wheelhouses out of my '72 rear clip...It's a 26' by 38' shop area, with a '69 Superbee and a '70 Dart already in it, with all my tools, portable compressor, and then my Skylark of course, and on top of that the rear clip...then there's the 'office' space in there, a little 4' by 8' room in the corner. Secondary structure, but the owner won't let me demolish it...maybe I'll take down the two "walls" while he's not looking and store them, so when I leave I can prop them back up with gussets:grin:

What I'd LOVE to do is get the AL heads I've been saving for for like 16 months, a new timing cover, cam, carburetor, 4 speed bellhousing, tranny, throwout, etc., etc., etc....and put all that stuff in, but it has no heat and almost no room to move about in!

Oh yeah, see I already forgot. I got my Stage 2 scoop and Skylark hood. Also, a front spoiler if Duane makes a batch.

After being inspired by Yardley and Mark Dalinquest (spelling?), I decided to do something about that '68 riv I had laying around in the garage for the last 10 years.....

Hopefully by the end of the year (next year), I should be able to have my Riv road worthy again. The first time since '94:eek2: .

Yesterday, the wife and I took a little road trip (800+ miles round trip) to go drop of my engine and transmission at JW's shop in Minnesota. Just a stock rebuild  .

Other plans for this winter include the installation of a fully rebuilt 3.42 posi rear end to replace the 3.08 one legger.

On a personal note, I'd like to once again, thank Jim Weise for fixing the starter on my truck. I have a '96 mazda B2300 (it's a ford ranger with mazda badging) with 106,000 miles on it. I've never had one problem with it in my life. It's been a trully flawless vehicle for me. Saturday morning at 5:45 as I'm about to leave for Jim's shop, I turn the key to start it, and I get nothing. Luckily it's a manual transmission, so i push start it. Nothing like taking an 800 mile trip without a starter
:Dou: . I manage to get to Jim's shop, and he's nice enough to offer to put it on his hoist and throw in a new starter for me. After he looked at it, it turned out to be some coroded connections, which were easily fixed (and cheaper than a new starter!). He didn't have to take his own time to do this, but it kinda show's the type of man he is. Thanks, Jim.

And Yardley.....hopefully I'll be gunning for your riv real soon:grin: .

    See ya,
    Brett

I am currently waiting for Jim W. to finish the engine he is building me. Then all I have to do is wedge it between the fender wells of my 1967 Riv:TU:.

Going to replace the brake lines on the convert. also change to power brakes and disc fronts so she'll stop with a little more authority. along with new bushings and ball joints for the front arms (steering linkage is still in great shape.)
and sandblasting and painting of those parts. just need some POR 15..

I also have an inexpensive tach to wire in that takes the place of the factory tach/ or filler plate in my case) I got off of ebay (autogauge with shift light (that im going to remote mount the knob for)

I may also try to redye the carpet black.
oh and since I can't afford a new convertible top yet I'm going to repair the cloth that holds the top from lifting at speed that is right over the head of the front seat passengers.

I see you must have survived that trip.. :Dou:

    Hopefully your wallet did too...:eek2:

Paperwork on your build will be in the mail in the morning, and it was good to meet you and your wife this weekend.

This winter the Skylark will be in storage, but right now it is in the process of being converted from a TH350 to a TH200-4R. Waiting for next spring I also have a Global West tubular A-arm conversion and disc brakes. If I end up deciding to sell my 350Z in the spring the Skylark will finally get the interior and the body re-done so they are up to par with the drivetrain.

Mr Lisk - Smart decision :Smarty:

I plan on installing the champion plugs and MSD wires this winter, in addition to applying Greg Setter's woodgrain kit to 'dress-up' my interior a little :Brow: My old stickers are starting to lift.

I also have a 'blown' radio in my glove compartment that needs some attention.

My tach needs rebuilding, but with a little girl expected soon, I'll guess (no, I'll state) that my garage Buick time will be extremely limited in the near future :TU:

Yes Jim, I survived the mall of america trip....Small price to pay to keep the wife happy.

Truthfully though, that place is just TOO MUCH. Too big, too many people, too overwhelming. Everything just looks the same after while. At least the wife thought the same thing, so I won't have to do it again! . Minneapolis seems like a pretty cool town though, I bet next time I can find some real fun in that town.

Cole, I hope the engine runs good to. And after talking with you, Kerrie wanted to know what the BPG national event next year was all about. She said we should go and check it out. Now, I don't have to talk her in to it! Hopefully, you'll have your car up and running, and I'll be able to beg a short joy ride out of you.
