Waking her up , getting ready to put her in the trailer for the North East Regional meet in Morgantown PA Bill
Yesterday, my wife, son, and I cleaned and washed my Wildcat. She has been gone a year while the engine was being rebuilt and needed some TLC to look her best (I think the Ravens up north were using her for target practice).
Friday the 23rd is the show . I think activities are Weds thru Sat giving time to checkout the car collection and consignments . Bill
Haven't done anything to my Buick in a while. I'm towing it home Thursday because there's no word on my motor and it's not right I take up a friend's garage space while waiting. I'm hoping it'll get done before I have to store it for the winter, but it's out of my hands.... Besides the motor, I want to get the rear end rebuilt/geared properly. I believe it has 3.73:1. I was spinning 3K @ 60 mph. I'm also going to change it to posi-traction. It's just wrong to have a 400 CID motor and leave one-wheel-peels... Hope everyone had a great Father's Day today.
Front cover is on and oil is pumping did not use Vaseline for the pump gears, I took the line off to the pressure gauge at engine and used a oil gun to push the oil into the pump, worked like a champ. Intake is next.
Replaced the P/S floor pan in the 69 Riv that the girls bought me for Father's Day. Now to finish the POR15 and dynamat then put the interior back in
Nice - but you may find the POR 15 won't stick to the new metal. That paint needs bite to stick. I'd use something else on the new pan.
I've had no problems with it sticking to new metal on other projects. You just need to prep the metal properly first.
I finally did something. I welded up the emblem holes on the quarter panel and re-drilled them for the aftermarket emblems. It's not much, but it's something.
I installed a Yearone electric trunk release in the Skylark. Also, plumbed up the CVR vacuum pump so I can keep the power brakes when the new engine gets here. It's only making 15 inches of vacuum and he pump keeps running, it should go to 20 then shut off. Troubleshooting that tonight or tomorrow now. Always something. Ken
I use a wire wheel, flap disc or hit it with 180 grit on the orbital sander to rough up the surface a bit then wipe it down this degreaser. After that paint on the POR15 and she's good to go!
