Replaced the power brake booster as the old one had astripped MC stud. Replaced the condenser and dryer. Filled the rebuilt A6 compressor with oil. Productive weekend!
Replaced the seat covers from a couple years ago. The driver side one broke recently. My awesome lady got me theses for Fathers day. They are super comfortable!
After wrapping up the floor repairs yesterday, I put the interior back in the car today. Finally after 5 years I got around to dying the front bench seat to match the rest of the interior. I actually recoated everything to freshen it up.
As we all know….it’s never too early to be there to call “Shotgun!” Rosie was late sniffing around and got the nose bleed seat in the back of the truck
Nothing on the car actually But unloaded a 455 my son just bought me for my skylark He surprised me with a late father's day gift 73 455 appears stock just has an hei But runs and is complete with 800 qjet Will replace my 350 that he was going to rebuild when he starts back to college this fall He is in his last year of auto tech and works for me at my shop Now he can build a 455 instead
Well, it's been a week since I took the GS400 for a drive. Decided to take a spin up to the grocery store to grab a few things. Ran into another guy there that said he has a 70 GS455 at home. He's working through some wiring problems with it right now. Had a good conversation with him in the parking lot.
Ran into this guy at the Cache Valley Cruise in. 455 Buick in it. This water pump pulley ended my day on the poker run. I had 3 queens at this point. 2 more stops to go. My mom came and grabbed my dad and I in their 2012ish Buick and we finished the last two stops in that in the way to get my truck/trailer. Ended with two jacks for a strong full house. I'm back home now but my dad is invested in the run enough that he's headed to the show today to check out the postings and see if I'm a top three. I kind of doubt it but it's fun to see him that strongly invested
The handle attached to the bat cut off switch broke in 1/2 on the Skyhawk. Ordered another complete switch from summit with what looked to be a better set up for the push / pull function thinking I could just change the broken parts. No such luck and I should have known better. Had to reinforce the mounting area to mount the switch and move some wiring around then redrill the hole in the taillight for the bigger rod. Couple things to tie up later today and that will be done!.
...and we have a pulley. Just waiting for a fresh water pump from our resident crack dealer, er Todd @ Stage1restorations.com
It is kind of funny if I run into another Buick GS/Skylark person even here in Utah. They know who Todd is and have ordered a bit of stuff from him For now, I'm just massaging engine block/water pump bolts after a drive. I might get out of this ok?
More work on my rear valance: sandblasted, filling some of the ex-rust pits/sanding... trying to get it ready for primer (the last unprepped sheet metal piece).
Made a couple of stamps and stamped my alternator (VA & A). Not sure why I bother to do these little things since 99% of the people who may see them don't care or won't notice them. Took a whole 15 minutes to make the stamps and use them. Not perfect but I doubt the originals were perfect either.
