Got the upper CAs done for the 67 wagon. I used the PVC sch 40 pipe as the spacer for the 2nd bushing to avoid scratching the powder coat. 1 1/4 inch is perfect. This was done in a HF 20 ton hydraulic press. Note the Proforged .5" tall BJs. Bushings and arm (offset) are Moog(USA).
This time I did let it go; - it finally sold today, after a year of being listed. It's headed to a new life up in Northern Alberta. Hopefully the new owner drives it a lot and fixes up what still needed to be done. Let all the parts go with it too; - so I'm officially "Buick-less" for the first time in 40 years.
I am sorry that it came to this point fory you. Always liked your car and you from the first time I saw your post years ago ( lurking before joining the forum). Please stay active on the forum, and keep your profile pic.
Not today but took the RaSabre to local Test n Tune last night. was there for about 3 hours and only got to runs in and not much of an opportunity to tune. first run was 14.40 foot braking and the second was 14.50 leaving off the trans brake. Was hoping for 13.99. Probably will get there with a bit more timing and a working 2 step to get this fat girl off the line quicker
This is just a rant, because I feel like being sarcastic. Some of you know my gold 1969 Buick skylark. I’ve owned it now about seven years. The night I bought it from this guy two counties north of me it road and drove beautifully. My son and I are driving it home. I did test the brakes during my test drive and they seemed OK. A little mushy but no pulling from side to side. We’re driving south on I 95. There’s a wreck in front of us and I have to slam on the brakes. That car pulled so hard to the left that I thought I was going into the median strip. The next day I jacked up the car and pulled the two front brake drums off. Don’t ever let a carpenter work on your car. The guy I bought the car from was a carpenter. He had the two BIG brake shoes on the left side, and the two small brake shoes on the right side of the car. What an idiot. I’ve noticed each time I change the oil that the stabilizer bar in the front was not tighten down completely. Even with the car sitting on all four tires there was slack in between the rubber bushings. I attempted to tighten it one time, but they wouldn’t tighten. I’m going through a bunch of Buick Parts I had collected and I found a stabilizer bar link kit. I’m real positive I took it off of a car in the junkyard, or one that I had stripped. The center metal bar in between the rubber bushings was much shorter. Now I see why I couldn’t tighten up the bushings. So I order a new stabilizer bar link kit, and I proceed to take the old ones off. You’re not going to believe this, but you have no choice. The previous owner put the bolts to the link kit in upside down! The only way to do that is by removing the frame bushings and letting the sway bar drop down. Oy vey! This guy must’ve been a total idiot when it came to working on cars. The one link unbolted, but I couldn’t get the bolt out because it was hitting the upper a arm. The other bolt was rusted solid, so I used a cut off saw to break it in half. NAPA says I can pick up my ordered part in 30 minutes or less. Just another day in Buick land
Got the Buchev's Nail all back together (I was doing a little clean-up on the front of the engine). The battery charger is on it at present (I haven't started it since September), and I will see if it will run on the six-month old gas. I'll probably try to crank 'er up this Wednesday.
Runs good, and 18.5 MPG. https://v8buick.com/index.php?threa...oom-with-the-drive-shaft.385552/#post-3400641
I had planned to start the Buchev tomorrow, but I decided to do it today. Bad battery. For kicks and giggles I decided to check my records to see when I bought it. I bought it at Walmart in Milford, MA on April 4th 2009. I guess that I can't complain too much.
Did some fine-tuning and prep for GSR. I won’t be driving this year but the car is ready to be a serious contender at about 10.60 seconds quarter-mile
Pulled the hood with some help. I'm towing it to a friend's house who has a lift. The motor's coming out for repair. While it's out, I'm going to try to source a 4 speed for it and ditch the FoMoCo 3 speed that's in it now. I rolled the dice at MECUM in January and unfortunately I bought a wolf in sheep's clothing. It'll get fixed, and hopefully we'll enjoy it this Summer.
Finally dried enough to get started on the 2023 crops. It's not a Buick but it makes Buick hp (360) and a whole lot more torque.
We're 2 to 3 weeks behind normal due to the recent wet weather we experienced here in Michigan. Corn going in the ground today.
I picked up my daughter from rugby practice. Her friends were like "We love your car!!" My daughter was like "Whatever."
Got busy on the U.S.S. RoadMaster last few days (more today) too much to list. Mom turned 99 last year & she loves that car (Dad bought it new for her). Driving it down to Georgia (stays with my sister & brother-in-law now) & got to have the Buick standing tall for when we go out cruising Of course my co-pilot will be providing security for this excursion ! Rosie gurl!
