Yesterday took the Riv to a food drive / cruise in with some locals in town. dropped off my bag full of donations and then hung out. Met up with a couple that were looking for cars to do a pin up girl type photo shoot for a upcoming calendar. I agreed they could use my car next weekend. Later changed back into my work clothes and mounted the rear back under the "RaSabre" Went as smoothly as can be expected lifting a 200 Lb piece of steel single handed up under a car. 6 attachment points and figured I was done. Installed the drive shaft as well. Got some daylight left so lets instal the backing plates and brakes. Ummm nope. Some dumbass wasn't paying attn to the routing of the E brake cable to the R side. Had to undo all the bolts on the R, remove the spring and fish the assembled brake assembly under around and over the axle then put it all back together. By then it was getting dark and I was whooped. Will tackle the other side today and get the brakes bled. Possibly put her back on all 4 wheels n see if it moves under her own power.
"Met up with a couple that were looking for cars to do a pin up girl type photo shoot for a upcoming calendar." I heard you wanted pictures too. Please share!
Finished hooking up everything on the rear of the car then filled the rear reservoir with DOT3. As I was contemplating on how and where to mount the line lock I see fluid running down the front of the booster. Pretty sure I didnt spill, wiped it up and back to brain work. Few mins later its back. Well chit! Brand new 3 yr old master leaking. Installed, bled and parked.,now bad . Had the receipt! Back to Oreally, got the MC and some adaptors , a short run of brake line and a bottle of DOT3. Im tired now. Enough for today!
Actually started going through the "Taulbee" car I picked up last September and put together a game plan. Also removed the front clip.
Went to a local medical supply house and got this canister and made a brake bleeder out of it. did all 4 wheels in under 10 mins. Will put het back on the ground tomorrow and make it move under her own power.
Thinking I can make it a bit more compact and all parts mounted to a stable platform. Harbor freight has much smaller pumps for cheap. Another thought I had was to add 3 more longer lines and do all 4 wheels in one shot
Went to Discount Tire (phenomenal service as has been the norm) and had my new Cooper Cobra GT's mounted yesterday. Installed them today and she's lookin' GOOD! -MIG
Got the driver's door window adjusted, refitted the door card. Sorted out the horn button (again- hopefully the last time) And spent 10 minutes looking for the window crank clip after it shot off at escape velocity. Found it.
