Bought more NOS parts from WildBill for the Wildcat GS. Yes we are going to work on it this winter. Plates ran out Feb/02
Today, nothing... Yesterday I started it up, pulled out of the garage, got some crap out of the attic, then pulled it back in. May do the exact same thing on Sunday, too.
Swore a lot at the lock cylinder retention clips on the drivers and passenger doors. I’ve never seen these be such a pain in the ass
Helped another Buick brother out by buying his parts car (66 2dr Wildcat) Thanks John... Good to finally meet you. Made it home safe through the suicidal deer population of 6 states. This week I'll get it in the barn for the hopefully short 5 month winter.
So today, I had to pull the Buick out of the garage again, put Halloween décor away in the attic, and get Christmas stuff down. This time instead of just pulling it back into the garage, I took a cruise around Zephyrhills. The weather was amazing at 55 degrees F and clear. Pretty happy with the way it currently runs. I do need to make some minor timing changes, including adjusting the vacuum advance to come and go at a higher reading, currently it's set at 6 in/hg and it has a slight ping on heavy throttle transitions, when the secondaries start coming in, but goes away very quickly. Also need to bump the base timing up a couple degrees since I switched to 93 octane gas. Project for another day though...
…viola! A hood latch assembly (courtesy of Dustin Vail on Facebook)! Unfortunately this made me realize how pooched my ‘72 grille is. Lots of plastic weld already. My parts car grille isn’t a whole lot better. One step fwd…(back to edging the fenders for another hour or so)
Got it out of the shop the day before Thanksgiving with the new posi rear. Still haven't had a chance to liberate it from the garage for a good drive yet. Maybe this weekend.
Cannibalism is complete on the parts ‘72 4 door. I’ve been distracted from my Buick due to Jeep needs and a Jeep trip after Thanksgiving. front/rear bumper Wiper assembly Front/rear windshield trim Overflow bottle (Coolant) Tail lights/lenses Various screws Hood/hinges Drivers side mirror Hood latch assembly (have an extra now if someone is in need) Front headlight/horn/etc wiring harness and sockets/plugs Bezels and matching hood trim Question: Does anyone know of a way to manually move a power seat fwd? I have gotten power to the seat and it’s not moving fwd, back or up/down.
