What did you do to your Buick today?

OK, first I want you all to know, especially if you live up north, that I am sweating my ass off down here in South Florida. I’m wearing shorts and flip-flops and I keep wiping sweat out of my face. I bench bled the master cylinder, and then put it back on the car. Then I hooked the front and rear brake lines up and then I bled the front and back brakes. The red brake light does not come on anymore so I guess it has good pressure. I’m pretty sure I need to adjust the brakes because the brake pedal is lower than I like it to be, but it is hard. I’m not having a good back day so that’s all I’m doing today. Oh yeah, I should go test it out and lock up the brakes. That’s always fun!

Wow, are we allowed to complain on this radio station? I’m not complaining about my Buick. I love my Buick. I’m complaining about the crappy parts they sell you nowadays. When I got this car five years ago I redid all the brakes including brake lines. The crappy front wheel brake cylinders must be universal fit for many different cars because they don’t really fit my car even though they say they do. The bleeder valve is too close to the spindle to get a wrench onto it. So you have to loosen the wheel cylinder and then jam a screwdriver between the spindle in the wheel cylinder to cock the wheel cylinder at an angle and then you can get a socket on the bleeder valve. In my last post I said I was all finished and going to test it. I forgot I have to tighten the wheel cylinders back up. Dang universal parts

You talking about where the drip channel ends and the overlap of sheet metal at the rear of the quarter glass opening? If so mines loose there also.

Come on Milton, the breeze is out of the west today. It should be coming in your garage instead of at the back of your garage, although the sun is definitely baking you right now.

I did nothing with either car but did fix several A/C units for grateful well paying customers.. And I did that same thing again today and probably tomorrow but Thursday Its supposed to rain so I may work on the Wildcat then.

The hottest I have ever been in my life was in August one year on a trip to Key West. I ordered a beer at an outside restaurant (at sunset) and in the 1 minute trip from the cooler to my table I swear it was at room temperature.

Replaced the outside rear door handles on the wagon with very nice used handles . They are the same as the GS .

I got parts everywhere in the garage from disassembling the engine from the Riv. I haven't touched a thing since last Wednesday night. BUT! I did build this awesome Barn board closet for the wife:D. The house was built without a linen closet but there was this empty cubby hole space outside my bedroom door. It was useless other than we had a mirror hung in it. So we filled the sucker in and we now have a linen closet.:) 20211024_161837.jpg 20211023_221117.jpg 20211024_161315.jpg

I really feel like I chose a poor time of year to start this thread . I'm either way too early or way too late. We'll see what happens as the fall and winter progress.

Just as mine looks, never touched and built in January of 1970.

No problem! The one thing I like about this old beat-up Skylark of mine, is that I am only the second owner. There are so many things that I know have never been touched.
