Dave made a jig to assure the alignment of the hood matching the fenders. It’s incredible to see in person how these turned out. No filler as of yet. Dave just did the metal work and that was a LOT !!!

Are they replacement fenders or the originals?

Original fenders but not from the same car. We found the hood is a 71/72 (David did tell me it was not the original GSX hood) fender on drivers side was from a different car. So Dave wanted to make sure the alignment was going to be the best it could. Dave is very detail oriented!!!!!!

Yep…you can’t assume hood to fender alignment will be good if you have non-NOS stuff. Ask me how I know :mad:

Yup - Even orig. fenders were assembled differently from part to part. FE Sheetmetal alignment on a moving assy. line must've been interesting & lots of "that's good enough" cars moving on to the next step.

Oh, & hoods had variations too. I have an orig. paint '70 hood here w/a minor crease & finally figured out that what caused it was that the factory welded it together incorrectly & I'm sure orig. the sheetmetal just flexed but eventually bent.

Yeah...likely a combo of things. The orange 72 I did 2 years ago for Alan had two NOS fenders on it...and when I did the initial front sheet metal fit, they looked great. I later found out that someone had "de-arc'ed" the hood to match the fenders. At least it was done for me.

Effectively the one I have was de-arc'ed from the factory front to back. Probably would fit a NOS fender pretty well

I am not looking forward to installing the NOS ones on the backhalf car.But altleast I'll be using a 3 1/2 cowl fiberglass hood ...

Finally got off my butt and sprayed some rust encapsulator on some of the suspension parts. Not really trying to make it shiny perfect more about protecting it to last for years to come as I drive and enjoy the car. It does look a lot nicer now for sure.

This is officially a GSX Wheel chair....
My soon to be mother in law has been having a hard time and had to have multiple surgeries this past year so she has needed a wheelchair to get around.
NEVER leave your car stuff out .... My fiancé wanted to fix a pad for her mothers wheel chair. Yep you guessed it. That foam used on that chair was my new padding for my interior on the GSX. Jamey thought it was from something else and had no clue. She felt horrible and I just laughed as no point in getting upset. We now have a running joke now about her Buick upholstery skills. I shared this with a few friends and of course Dave Tumas texted Jamey and asked if she could reupholster a chair for him. I busted out laughing when I saw the text and she just laughed and texted him back that she has some great foam so bring it on over. Some setbacks are a little frustrating but some are just funny.

    Hey Ryan

If the foam she used is the foam from the seat backs, I got you covered. Just pay the shipping from my house here in Ottawa, Ontario and I can send you new seat back foams.

    Cheers

    Randy your awesome. Thank you.
What Jamey used was part of a roll I got from Legendary and to be honest I am not sure what its for. I think it's for the back seat top or bottom. I figure I can get some locally but if I cant I will PM you. I appreciate your offer very much.
