That A180C filter is the same filter that is used in the '67 Star Wars air cleaner. I always wondered what other applications used the A180C and now I know at east one of them. I've got several of those NOS filters in that same style box. Was that air filter a square mesh or diamond mesh design?
Another day, another couple items crossed off the list.... Thermostat installed and fan upgraded. My 1973 Blackhawk jack being put through its paces lifting yet another Buick! Next up on the hit parade are new mounts. Eric brought a set of nos pedal pads and the GM box has a set of strut rod bushings in it.
Pretty standard looking engine mounts you have there. Replacement was a positive thing . Getting closer to the road test
Eric received a donation to the cause from a mutual friend of ours. I installed it. Don't say anything, it's a surprise! Now I have to find a new home for the gauges....
Little update on the 63- Finally got 2 wheels and tires. 2 more on the way. New lower ball joints and strut rod bushings getting installed currently. The fuel is turning orange. Not sure if it's because of rust in the tank or the inside of the fuel line is rusty. I'm hoping the issue resolves itself after a few tank tank of fuel being run though thr car.
Yeah, it's gonna have to come down...sigh Here's a sample of all the crud that I had to pick axe from around the ball joint. The ball joint wasn't even visible when I started! Ugh....still gotta do the other side now. Ball joints were supposed to show up Friday... . Side note- my tools are really getting a work out. I laugh sometimes and ask myself how normal people do all this **** without a $50k toolbox?
Question that I probably already know the answer to... Trying to time it. #1 is on the passenger side. Put my light on #1 and the mark isn't even close to the tab! I'm thinking the balancer is off. Is that a common thing? I timed it using my specially calibrated ear. I found the "sweet spot" thst it seemed to like. Larry is probably having an anxiety attack after reading this! Lol
The nailhead balancers are riveted together. I don't think it's possible for the timing mark to move.
