Thanks! Only progress today is I bolted the exhaust manifold back on with 2 new 1/2" studs. I put a bunch of anti sieze on the bolts so 50 years from now when I'm in the skull orchard, the next poor bastard won't have the same problem I had.

So it looks like I need a RH head pipe for this car. The pipe is broken and rotted by where it attaches to the manifold. I cant make any sort of a repair to it. A good used pipe would be fine. I could splice it in to the rest of the system. Anyone have any leads?

Cut it off and bring it to an exhaust shop to have it copied. Then age the new pipe to match the LH side.:D

Any good exhaust shop should be able to get that fixed up for you.

Ok, I took another swing at the pipe and made a temporary repair. Not sure how quiet it's gonna be, but it'll be better than open manifolds. Just gotta put a couple of tacks on it. Not my best work but better thsn nothing. The car really needs a complete exhaust ...

I managed to install a PCV system using a bit of scrap 3/8" line, a piece of hose and a brass fitting I found in a bin

LOL, I thought I was the only one that happened to. I swear it's always that last bolt that turns into a nightmare.

Walter, I am in that same boat right now. The last bolt just didn't want to cooperate, so out comes the motor. Now, I wonder did the last bolt win or did I??????(bastard) lol. Smoke wrenches work great!

Plugs in this engine were fouled out bad. Black and stunk of fuel! Looks like they were in it for decades

Put in a fresh set of plugs and she runs good! Put a little timing in her and adjusted the mixture and shes purring!!!

Funny, Eric stopped by with an air filter which turned out to be wrong. I seemed to recall seeing an odd filter sitting on a self waaaaaay in the back of the parts dept. Sure enough, I actually had a brand new AC filter for it. I donated it to the cause..

We should have wheels and tires this week! I'm dying to drive this thing!!

And a side note- I opened the "litter box" in the console and there was a beer in there! I literally burst out laughing. Definitely Wild Bill's old ride!
