I remember bringing an engine home in the back of my wagon, but it was only a little 1.9 for my Opel.
:af: :ball: :af: When The GREEN Drops The BS stops :ball: :af: :ball: 69 MAN, That 455 is a high performance motor! IT would love to have some high octane p welcome to progect GREEN :TU:
......guess you just answered my long-standing question of whether or not the rear decking of a Sporty would support the weight of a BBB Is that a 2-seater or 3 seater ?? did you re-inforce the deck ?? Did you use a hoist/crane to get it in there ?? Gate down like in the picture or swung like a door ?? YOU are DA MAN !!!
Alan, Yes and No, This is a 2 seat wag goon. B.T.W. (NO FACTORY BODY MOLDING) :bglasses: stock deck W/ 5/8 plywood under the motor (storage underneath) Forklifted from Don's junk yard. I think we opened the barn door to load o No: we put the gate and window up for the ride home. :3gears:
I'll be calling it something else. I bet you can guess. One of those letters will be replaced with a B.
What size rims/backspacing did you use to tuck them under thar......or did the cutting torch do the trick ??
Alan, The "tow witch" has a 8.5 out of a 71 and the stock rims are used ,moving the center over 3/4". The backspacing is 3-3/4". In so many words -the cutting torch trick-. B.T.W., how's your wagon doing, I'm not shure if i've seen it. Post me a pic. if you can.
Don, You should elaborate a little. The wheels now are Buick Rallies, the wheels in the photo are your old Western's.
Im totally lost in a fog of green...... Stock wheels are what...4.5" BS ?? the 71 rear isn't the same plate-to-plate as the 69 ?? I've got a 3.23 8.5 in mine now and didn't notice any diff. from stock o No: BillMah52 keeps EGGing me on to throw a Dually rear under there and really make it the TowB!tch from hell My Wa-gooon ??? rusting peacefully in my driveway :ball: It was this years' project until the motor in BigRED puked. I've got NOS full left sheet metal waiting in the garage - I really need to get the turd of a Roadmaster parts wagon out of the garage and gone and let Sporty rest peacefully Springs almost here :TU:
Alan, He cut the centers out of the wheels and moved them 3/4" to get his backspacing. The rears are the same width from 68-72, I believe.
