Hey Michael, we aren't that far away from each other. I have a '71 350 if you are really interested in some sort of trade.
Very Cool Rob and Jim......... I guess I've been hiding in a hole on this one. I didn't even know this tread was going on until today Congrats guys! very cool :TU:
Thanks Rich! Now that you got the supercharger deal worked out on your 455, you can help me with my 350  The block is already o-ringed, but I think I'm going to wait alittle while until I follow up with getting everything setup perfectly. I think a supercharger on this engine will make it run on borrowed time without having the rods and some bottom-end re-enforcement to back it up. Do you think I'll be able to hit the 700-800+ hp mark with a set-up like yours? :bglasses: :3gears:
With lots of BOOST (15psi or so) and good gas 110 or 114... I think those numbers would be possible.... Make sure your bottom end is in order tho like you said or you'd be driving over your crank (just like me if I was to run lots of boost). Get that bugga in and to the track... I'm very curious to see how it runs.
I just thought I would throw this to the top incase someone wants to use this for a reference. Everything should be together by the end of June:grin: I'm just making sure everything is done right, so I don't have to do it over again.:3gears:
Reading this post the past several weeks has given me an interest in 350's again. I always knew they had potential. My GS 350 runs like a raped ape and its stock. My 350 surplus has recently exceeded my 455 aquisitions (5 to 4) These are exiting times for the SBB.
I could get kicked off the board for this but. You should hold off on boost till this winter. I know you are gonna be able to run some killer numbers. We can't have everyone ignoring your results as they write it off to boost.
I won't be putting boost on anytime soon, but maybe later down the road. If I did that I'm sure the rods and bottom-end will need re-enforcement. I'm still working on getting the drivetrain up to snuff, so I don't worry everytime I put the hammer down
The car is coming together slowly as I'm out on the road again. I should have everything going in 3 weeks as I want this together correctly. With having a short amount of time at the house I don't want to rush things and have them bite me in the butt later. I'm usually home for a day and go back out again, so I'm somewhat time limited. Thank God I can go online from the inside of my cab as I have WIFI, so I can keep up here A majority of the drivetrain is in the car, I just need to do a few more things.
Well, I should be firing the car up this weekend I got a few days off to get everything together and there's just alittle bit more to do. I'll be firing it up without the exhaust, so I'll probably scare the hell out of my neighbors, lol. I'll see if I can get my brother to make a movie of it when I first fire it up. I wish could've made it to Salem, but I needed to get this car done first due to the amount of time I have home.
Rob, Yes, Yes, Yes!!! A movie of the first fire-up. With sound if you can!!! I'd like to see one of your first launch with the new mill. :3gears: :3gears: VROOOOM!!!!! :3gears: :3gears:
For REAL!! :TU: A movie of the FIRST fire (WITH sound) would be very nice!! Here's to everything going smooth! :beer :3gears:
Thanks Guys!:TU: The movie will definately have sound Once I get everything buttoned up I'll have to get the posi installed so I can take advantage of this beast. All I need to do now is hook up the electronics, the pulleys, and dump some 100 LL aviation fuel in and I'm set to go. This car is made to run 93 octane, but I want to make sure the timing is all set and everything checks out good. :3gears:
Well, she's almost ready to fire up :Brow: P.S. Don't mind the dust and all the other crap :TU::laugh:
High Horse Small Block Rob, looking sharp!!! What gears are you going with? Keep us posted, can't wait to hear you fire it up!!! AL :TU:
