yep, will never consider a spring compressor. Floor jack is the safest way to remove and install front springs. Obviously when you lack the weight, you get creative!
Finally got new Springs, bushings and shocks installed, I wound up cutting 1 full coil off the Moroso springs because Hugger said to cut 2 lol, I think the ride height will be better just have to wait and see. Hoping for engine and trans install in the next month.
Needed new quarter window rubber, nice product again from Steel Products. Also took a look inside quarter panel, clean and nice as 40,000 mile should be.
Yes I believe so, there are nice and stiff in the backbone that slides into the channel and soft and pliable where the glass seals.
The interior in this car is amazing and other than cleaning it only needs some package tray attention. Drivers side was very warped so I applied hot steam and then some weight to it to try and help it come back down flat without breaking into pieces. It worked pretty well, then I sprayed it with some Flat Black. It’s not perfect but an improvement.
Little more progress while I wait for Engine, I removed the brake pedal and plastic backing foot plate in preparation for 4-speed pedals, removed the dash to install the Tach, and also installed the defrost switch will will serve as the switch to activate my Electric Exhaust Cutouts. The dash bezel chrome is nearly perfect. Cleaned as good as it can be, and no more indicator for automatic.
Prepping for the 4-speed install, floors are super and still in red oxide paint, and finally found a build sheet under the carpet. And a unicorn money clip but no money dang!
And just so it’s known, there’s no difference in the pedal mounting bracket, I didn’t know and went to all the trouble to remove it and replace, huge waste of time.
Since I got a 4-speed hump to install, and rear lower control arms to box I picked up a nice MiG welder today. Been looking for a month or so and found a very reasonable Lincoln about an hours drive away off FB market place.
While I’m in the dash fooling with the tach I needed to figure out my wiring and switch for my Exhaust cutouts, pretty slick I think. 3 way switch, one touch open, one touch closed. Works great.
Can anyone show me what type bolt mounts this Z-bar bracket to the frame, or is it just nut and bolt, there is hardly any access to is the frame to hold anything with a wrench.
