The yellow "D" signifies disk brakes.

When I had my engine out in 2020, I could see remnants of "1919" (Regal Black top and bottom) and part of the letter "C" for clutch. There should have originally been a letter "M" next to it for manual drums but over 50 years, it vanished.

Before putting the engine back in, I replicated both the markings on the firewall.

I can share a lot of the correct factory under hood decals/markings on a 1973 GS455. This is a FLINT car.

The heater hoses are ribbed reproductions and the washer pump hose is original.

Nothing painted on the bellhousing or tunnel. I've never seen that on manual transmission cars, though.

The alternator stamp looks like a square with a D inside it. The power steering decal is illegible but is foil, the rear hood seal is a crayon inspection mark, the booster green mark is a round ink stamp, the coil may or may not I haven’t taken it out so don’t know.

What I used on the Reynolds car when I restored it… on all the natural cast iron and natural metal parts…even bigger parts like backing plates and such, was East Woods Electroplating kit, I.E. Zinc plating. Gives that total natural metal look. With the anti rust protection. Leave it as is when the part(s) come out of the acid dip or you can slightly polish it to hone in on the correct sheen. Labor intensive but after 15 plus years from restoring the car there still are no signs of rust.
Way better than a can of cast color spray paint. Plus it looks way more correct.

Some body mounts changed color depending on the year car and when they were built, as do the information/stickers for front spindles, throttle cables, and all kinds of other items, plus a lot of info depended on which plant built the cars. Some used stickers, some paint marks, and some stamped letters into the steel parts.

Many times the actual parts used depended on the production plant.

If you don’t take the model year car into account, or when the car was built, or where, you will end up with information that is worthless.
