Not sure if I am in the right spot but does anyone know this car?

I think that if you are patient, one will come up for sale somewhere that you like. It seems to happen in waves... nothing, then a whole bunch.

One nice thing about buying a car from someone on this board is that you can usually see what they posted about the car through their ownership. Since almost everyone here is an enthusiast and not a dealer trying to make a living off selling cars, you get a well cared for and/or well restored vehicle.

Does anyone know this car? It is listed under USClassifieds4All for $36,400. It's located in New York city with the add stating in good condition and beautifully restored. It is advertised as a 455 GS however there are Stage 2 emblems below the GS emblems as well as having a Stage 2 decal on the air cleaner lid. There is also an aftermarket stereo installed with round speaker in both front and back panels and some big ass speakers in the trunk. The paint color looks almost like an indigo blue so am not sure if that is a factory color or not.

Thanks for finding this information for me, guess I won't be getting a response to my enquiry about this car if it's been sold and have a suspicion that the actual asking price was far more than $36,400. Just as well though as I am looking for something as close to if not stock as I can find. This car, although looks great, just has too many modifications. How do you and others on this site manage to find out all of this information? When I posted a picture of the black Buick GS convertible I had no idea it was also listed for sale on eBay and now this blue GS, which from the add I found, stated the car was in New York

That is probably a scammer who just took the photo from the other site.

It's very irritating when these scammer start ripping off pictures/information of cars that have already been sold and post them to their site. I have experienced this with a listing on Davidsclassiccars.com

With not being very computer savvy and new to this site I don't know how to start a new thread. I was lucky enough to stumble on a section where I could ask a question and so far the people who have offered advise/information and support have been great.

Chris (@cjp69) know the whereabouts & sales history of every GS ever made:). Not quite but close. He's also been a matchmaker on many occasions. Tbh, because they made so few, there's very few unknown cars out there at this point and it's a pretty small community compared to other makes. Between all of us we've either owned or seen most of 'em. I bought an unknown '70 Stage 1 4-sp several years ago (not my current one) and tbh, besides that it was a super clean/orig sheetmetal/rust-free car, the fact that it was unknown was a pretty appealing feature.

One member of this forum suggested I start a new thread and post a link. With not knowing all of the lingo and abbreviations used first of all what is a thread and how does one go about creating one as well what are the benefits as it seems when I posted my very first question of asking if anyone knows about this car (the Black convertible) there have been at least 4 members who have been able to contribute their input. I also do not know what Tbh stands for as well not sure how much Chris were to appreciate me using him as my only resource for questions. I'm kind of a plain English guy so until I know all of the acronyms/abbreviations used by members of this site I would appreciate spelling out exactly what you are referring to in your communications. I also do not know how to post/share a link. Thank you.

Hi Chris. One of the other member of this forum said that you know pretty much all of the Buicks bought/sold and are for sale. I do not like to ask but would you mind if I use you as a resource when it comes to asking questions? I kind of prefer just posting my questions so that other members can make their contributions/advise as I would prefer not to put all the burden on you. Thank you.

If you want a private conversation with Chris (You do), find one one of his posts and click on the little picture at the left of it, then select "start a new conversation".

Here is a link for this time:

What I have done is located one of Chris's posts and just replied to it asking if I may use him as a consultant/resource. When I sent my very first question to a post on this forum I receive multiple feedback from members. Although directing questions to Chris only is good I also like to post question on the public forum to get feedback from multiple sources, in that way I can be introduced to a number of Forum members. I clicked on the left side of your picture and see in red that there is an option to start a conversation. Thank you for your direction.
