Should be back to Thunder Valley Saturday (tomorrow) for some more tuning and hopefully give Bobb something to motivate him over the winter. Maybe it will help him shed his "winter coat"......
I called the Fayetteville track and they got the east coast bracket series going on this weekend. So a Buick friend of mine went to Brewers dragway(Sharpsburg NC) with me. I got to drive both cars! It takes a lot to switch over when the shifters are so very different. The old green car (the "Dinosaur", alan's avator) went a 7.24 at 92.5 mph, not to bad with my old engine in it that is about 15 years old, the t400 trans was the very first automatic that I rebuilt with my Dad many years ago and was in my green car that is my avatar, and it has weak cast iron stage 1 heads and 10.5 compression. The black 69 GS that belongs to Wayne Anderson has mostly my new short block (it was going into the dinosaur until Wayne's engine let go) with his 508S cam, stage 2 al. heads and my 1150 Holley Dominator. It is stock appearing except for the stage 2 scoop and rims, but it pulls like a freight train. It went 7.10 with Wayne driving the first run and 6.99 with me driving the next time but letting off early due to it getting loose with me, I lost 6 mph. The last run in his car was my best at 6.95 at 99.5 mph! It was a fun night, just wish my two boys could have gone with me! Rick, keep us posted, hopefully some of us can watch you run. Maybe I should put some NOS back on the ole Dinosaur and get it into the 6's!
Didn't make it to the Valley, have a vacuum leak to fix.......still went without the car but the track wasn't any good since they didn't prep it. Saved me having a bunch of wasted passes down the track.
