I’ll bet someone on the new-logo committee said “we need something less masculine, more inclusive”

That's good, I hope they change the brake lines to stainless steel because one day you may be cruising down the highway at 55- 75 miles an hour you have to make an emergency stop an your ABS won't help you because there's no brake fluid used to be a GM loyalists till that happened on my GMC pick up truck. Oh the best part was it wasn't a warranty issue. Wonder how many people they killed.

Yawn, that’s an old issue that was put to bed long ago, even the NHTSA closed any investigation. It was isolated issue to specific vehicles, not company wide.

I remember commenting about this back in the mid 90's, gm (haha used new logo, it looks stupid) was going crazy wild with vehicles, engines, crate engines, their GMPP program and such.
Ford on the other hand was being much more conservative. I think Ford is in better shape now because of it:(

Looks like a Chinese character or letter in their alphabet...oh, sorry, that wasn't nice now, was it?
... They might as well change it to one, they have more of a presence there than they do on this side of the pond. As for me looking at their new stuff, no, I think I'll take a hard pass. There's absolutely nothing in the current GM (sorry, "gm") stable that remotely interests me. And if they focus entirely on electric cars, then that interests me even less. They may be the future and blisteringly fast, but this world isn't technologically ready for it yet.

The only way I'll ever buy an electric car is when there is no other option. And when that time comes, they'd better have a decent environmentally sound way to dispose of dead batteries figured out, because right now they're extremely expensive to build and even worse to dispose of because no one knows what to do with them. Like most environmentally "friendly" based products, the costs associated with building, using and disposing of are ones people don't think about because it's all behind the scenes. But building and disposing of electric cars and parts has a larger environmental footprint than a gasoline powered one does. I'll drive my petrol fuelled eco-pig Buick until they mandate the thing off the road, and when that day finally comes, I really hope I'll be dead by then.

There's one maxim that most environmentalists have never figured out; in order to create energy, an equal amount of whatever other energy has to be expended. So right now electric cars are cheap to run and an expensive novelty toy for the rich to show just how "woke" they are. What's going to happen when that's the only choice left? Right now the grid can barely support what's being built now, what will happen when everyone plugs their Volt or whatever in at night? I'll bet that when we get to electric cars, electricity will be 3 times as expensive as it is right now, so that the cost of a charge will be 3 times the cost of a tank of gas because of the huge demand on our over taxed power-grid. Right now fossil fuelled vehicles provide some of the cheapest and most efficient transportation around, but of course, the cost is to our breathing air. So what's going to happen when they have to build more powerplants to support all the electric cars gm purports to build? What's going to fuel those and the equipment required to build them?
Star Trek unfortunately isn't reality yet, so far we haven't any found Dylithium crystals.

I'm kinda disappointed in this thread. For the most part I think my Buick brothers are knowledgeable and cool, but some of the comments on this thread are a bit scary. I'm sure that some folks thought that the steam engine was a tool of the devil, the gasoline powered automobile replaced the horse that God intended to be the source of transportation, and the airplane would never catch on. We are a part of evolution and it is possible that the gasoline (and Diesel) powered vehicles will be replaced with those that are electric-powered. Electric-powered vehicles will succeed only if they are better; they will not be rammed down our throats, and it will be a lengthily process. Bear in mind that electric cars were around more then 100 years ago. If they are better (then internal combustion powered cars) I will buy one. If not, I will stick with the fossil-fuel drivers. We shall see.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

People here seem to have problems understanding corporate branding?

The GM logo doesn't go on the grill.

Also, to the bulk of current consumers, text in all capital letters does not indicate manliness or strength, it indicates ignorance and misinformation via text message.

I never said that GM was the only one that had a problem with their brake lines. GM did know they had a problem with the brake lines on their pick up trucks and elected to due nothing about it whether the government got involved in it or not.

Doesn't matter anyways..All GM's vehicles look like they were designed by people from Hyundai,Kia etc..Nobody wants to be or look different or apart from import cars..There is only 1 GM vehicle I'd buy,but that's a Cadillac...
