That's awesome. I have a buddy that keeps getting 2004rs out of his demo cars. I have got one already and two of my friends have got them in the last year from this guy. I'm on the list for another one just so I can have two. but if you're interested I'll make sure you get one next time he comes across one... in some cases they have come out of running and driving vehicles but I would recommend a rebuild. He's selling them for $200

I'll take you up on that offer for a provable running driving unit.

I gave one away several years ago before realizing they had potential.

I went 11.81 with a 2004r I don't know what the problem is. Vince Janis did my trans in 2005

There's a video on YouTube called the super car Destroyer featuring a 67 Corvette. Has something like 900 horsepower. He's running a 2004r

My buddy buys these old late 80s cars for next to nothing, he trailers them. He always runs a turbo 350 and sbc in his derby cars. The cars might move on their own but he would have no way to prove if its actually a good tranny. He use to scrap these 200r4 trannys until i said something. But at $200 a pop the cores are worth more than twice that. So down the road as I get more of them if you want one I'll get you one. But I would recommend a rebuild no matter what. Costs around $700 for rebuild. A stock 2004r is over $1000 from jegs but you'll have a core on top of that. A mild performance 2004r is over 2 grand plus core.

Unless you want a manual, all 350 guys should run 2004r trannys.
Then you can go with a big gear!

Was that the cost of the rebuild or buying a built reman?
