I got it now! Ok, the file size was too large! I got in now... ou: Another... Hammin' it up for the camera!
Rick? Hey Rick, where are you from in NW Ohio? Have we ever jammed at the same gigs? I am in Columbus. Rock on...

Guitar, lets see how long started when I was 11 and now I am almost 44 that makes 33 years of playing,,, man am I that old? Hey Mark how do your PRS's been really thinking about one of those but the wife said car or music, so I guess I have to finish the car. I just have keep using my Takemine 6 and 12 accoustic/electrics with a Genz-Benz with enough pedals you can do anything. Rick
All I can say is, don't go play one until your ready to buy it! The sunburst PRS is my number one axe now. I just can't put it down. Looks great, plays great, sounds great....'nuff said! An off the rack PRS will be a better player, and better quality than a custom shop Fender......or anything else IMHO.
I play guitar, love the blues:TU: Infulences are SRV, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Page, Rory, Duane Allman, and I love Neil young!!!! I have a early 70's SG and a strat autographed by Dick Dale. I just sold my les paul to pay the body shop working on my GS.:ball: :ball: I will probably never be able to afford a nice guitar again. Here's a pic of my beloved 1969 Les Paul
I play Bass (well...I used to anyway). Mostly Metal, blues, some funky stuff and I love jamming though I haven;t done it for a while. I own a washburn that weighs about 15 tons. I couldn't afford a 5 string but had to have the low B so I took to my nut with a round file and just plopped that fat 'ol B right in the E slot. Now I have B, E, A, D. "G strings are for strippers" is what I say. Apparently, the low B vibrates at around 35 Hz which just happens to be the same frequency that excites the adrenal gland. Not sure if it's tue or not but it sure excites me when I hit it. Especially when it's backed by 500 Watts of Valve! Here's an old funky blues thing I cut to a loop for exactly this reason It took ages to get it cut just right so it loops perfectly - I use MSmediaplayer v6.4 because it loops without pausing. Cool edit is what I used for editing. It's been sitting around since '98. If anyone's interested in adding to it - go right ahead. Just make sure that I get a copy of it when you're done I want to hear what you've added. http://www.buickstreet.com/music/
Hey, how can anybody play a fish? Which end do you blow in to? er  Novice guitar player here. Just got my first electric (Ibanez S370) so I can scare the neighbors with something other than my loud car.
I don't know that I'd call myself a musician, I started playing the guitar in high school because I thought it was cooooooool....I guess a "mullet" will do that to you, cause you to become disillusioned...anyway... My first and only teacher bored me to death :boring: , so I bought some books, learned the basic chords and tought myself! I actually became good enough where I'd hear something on the radio a few times and pick it up, I developed a "good ear" for music, if you will. I hardly ever play anymore, but I did bust it out this past New Years after I cooked for some friends and we had a few glasses of the grape! :Brow: :Brow:
Wow, lots of guitar pickers here! We could have a V8Buick jam :gt: Ethan.. sounds pretty cool. :TU: Are you playing everything in the song? The Dude (Scott) Nope.... I'm sure we've never jammed at the same gig.... seeins' how I've never played at a gig. :gt: I just have about 7 or 8 friends that play various instruments and we get together (whoever can show up) about once or twice a year and jam in someones garage or basement. Just for fun. Well.. at least I only show up about once or twice a year.... between us all there's probably 6 or 7 jams a year with various people there. My youngest brother is 15. (Yeah..I'm 30 and have a 15 year old brother.... and I also have a 3 year old sister!) Yeah....My dad stays very ...um...busy. :gt: LOL Anyways..... he just started playing guitar about 6 months ago, and he is awesome. I can't believe how he's picked up on it. Puts me to shame, thats for sure. He already has a band put together, and they're playing their first real gig in about 3 weeks at a local street festival. I can't wait to cheer them on. :beer
Brad... you can't play a fish.. but you can tuna fish. Sorry.... I know....that was bad. :moonu: o No: :gt:
Ethan, as you are probably aware, that chorus rocks. Well done dude! Kinda puts my little bass riff to shame but...well, I can't be good at everything...lol
Yup, that would be all me. If I could just find some peeps out here to start a band, it wouldn't have to be that way! Thanks, I'm glad you dig it! Nah, your bass riffs are cool! If you spent as much money as I have (my life savings) on music gear and instruments, then you can have a "produced" sound too! I think I might grab your loops and see what I can do with them... I'll letcha know!
Ivan and Ethan... Between you two experts, I should be able to get some sound advise... I fixed a 4 track for a friend about 8 years ago and while I had it at my house I played around with it one night and layed down a few cheesy tracks on a cassette. I'd like to get the tracks off the cassette and into some digital medium, just so it's safe for the future. Not that it's anything great....but I guess I'm kinda sentimental. Now that I think about it, I also have a handful of cassette tapes from a few jams where we just left a tape recorder running in the next room to catch some of the tunes. (or noise) :gt: Whats the best way to get them transfered to CD or my hard drive before the tapes decide to self destruct? I have a few guitar amps, a DJ mixer board, a Mackie 1400 amp, and a Sun powered mixer, but nothing that's really made for doing what I want to do. Seems to me that my only option is to plug a mic into the sound card in my PC and record a tape playing. Don't think that will sound too good though. Unless I can use a "line out" jack from something to get it into my computer somehow?? Assuming I can get it transfered..... One of the "songs" I did with the 4 track sounds terrible in a few places where the bass guitar was too loud and really saturated the tape. Do you reccommend any free software I can dowload to mess with the sound at all, to try to get rid of some of that saturation? Thanks in advance!
If you can plug the outputs from the 4 track into your sound card you should be fine. Assuming you only have a soundblaster or something with a mini stereo in. You should be able to get a cable from radio shack that goes from 1/4 to RCA . From RCA you should be able to go RCA to Y connector mini stereo. Hope that makes sense. My two soundcards are capable of 32 Ins 32 Out's all simultaneously. It can become a routing nightmare because the possibilities are endless.:Brow:
