I use to use the year one's, and only put the orginal's on at a show. But one time I shut the hood, and left the orginal's on, and have been using them.

I think the ones from Year One are ok and they come the right height, AL

Really? I had to cut about an inch off mine :Do No:

Maybe I had them longer than I thought...

Marco, BTW nice looking engine bay!!! Did you get the correct seal from Year One? The ones on my car are from Year One for a 455 and are not cut down, the 350 ones are taller, AL.

    Quick question

Is the big block ram air cleaner system different in size overall, not just the foam cushions but the whole air cleaner setup than a small block one?

One correction on my last post, the earlier GS air cleaners have the breather tube in a different location and the later ones have another small hose going to the emission canister, :Smarty: AL.

    Thanks Al!

I'm not sure when I bought them, or which car it was for. Before I bought This car in 1998, I had a '72 GS350 from 1993.

I like the repro seals (from YO) better than the NOS ones.

I do as well, other then the color they fit and look great! I thought about buying a n.o.s. set one time and I could not see spending that kind of money for something you need to trim down to fit and have the possibility of scewing up! AL.

OK, I have some prices for people.

YO: $20.95 each ($23.95 for the 350's)+ painful shipping costs

OPGI: $19.99 each + painful shipping costs

The Parts Place: $14.95 + $7.00-$9.00 shipping for both seals (this was the 350 price, unknown on the big block seals).

So if they (the repro shops) all use the same supplier for seals...... Hope this helps some of you!

I bought a set a while ago from Cars Inc that was a definite lower quality than the Year One pieces.

Has a correct set of seals for a 69-71 GS been reproduced yet? :Do No: AL.

According to what he posted earlier, I don't think it's on Duane's priority list at this moment.

It's on the horizon, just not yet a priority.

The ones from year one are wrong... not the correct height... if you see my last post, they are the correct ones... remember they are to squash down as you close the hood, to seal off the bottom of the hood to the foams..

    Guys,
No one has reproduced a correct set of foam hood seals, that's why I want to make a reproduction. The idea was to give the show guys a cheaper alternative then buying originals.

This project is not on the back burner, but I am not going to "pester" the guy that is going to extrude the foams. That is the surest way to piss someone off, and end up not getting the parts made. Once they get extruded, and I am talking about a trailer full of foam extrusions, I will get them die cut and everyone can buy a set.

The only reason I posted about not answering any e-mails on this subject, is that since I asked if there was any interest in this part, I get at least 10 e-mails a week asking if they are done. If I answer everyone, I will not get anything else done. Believe me, when they are close to being finished I will let everyone know.

This is also why I no longer list new parts I am working on. Once a new part is finished and in stock, I let everyone know.

Where can I find out what parts you have? Do you have a web site somewhere? If so pls put it in your signature for future reference.

I think it's great what you're doing for us, and will support with my business wherever I can.
