    Ken

Can you use your influence with Brad to get me some of those proto pinks I've heard about?

    Brad says,
It was one of those "you had to be there" moments.

Brad sure was right about that, I laughed so hard I was crying.

    Jim,
I'll make you a deal, if the test pieces are pink, they are yours, but use them at your own risk! I did.

Nope...not even close. These foamies were on a car on ebay recently - talked about in a discussion on here somewhere.

I could make better foams if I cut them out of my couch.

The scary part, Carl, is that actually sounds pretty cool! Now if I could mix some phosphorescence into the paint....

Just imagine, the whole car glows green at night except for the stripes! :bglasses:

guys, parts group 3.417, GM part # 1386813 is only correct for the 69-71 GS 350. the 69-71 GS 455 uses two 1386814. still researching the 1972. if you buy the 1386813 you will need to cut them down to use them on a 455. sometimes you'll see the 186813 listed on ebay for the 455, but that is not correct. i plan to wait for Duane's repro's.

    Carl,
If Ken wants a set of bright flourescent green foam seals for his GSX I will make him a set. Of course he will also need to paint his wiper blades to match. Should look real good on a Lime Mist car.

my 1975 parts book does not list a 1386814 at all, a 1972 for both 350 and 455 is 1239661

    72 seals

owen, that was info i got from my buick parts book printed march 1973. my 64-76 buick A body book ( printed may 1981 ) shows the same as what i posted earlier. according to this 64-76 A body parts book, the 1972 GS 455 uses the 1386814 on the right side, and it shows the 1239661 for the drivers side on both the 350 and the 455. although, that number supercedes 1239663 on the 72 455 left. the march 73 book shows 1239661 for the 72 350 left side, and 1239663 for the 72 455 left. parts books vary depending on when they were printed. the A body book is my best one. it shows many superceded numbers which has helped me ID some things i couldnt ID otherwise. HTH, henry

I thought it was posted before....

Or maybe I found out just talking to Duane, there were NO BBB foams available from GM. No matter which part number you ordered, you got the same 350 (taller foams) in the box. :bglasses:

Personally, I prefer the crummy repros. On a daily driver, I like the luxury of throwing them out every year or so, because they tend to take a beating

While my GS isn't my daily driver, I agree 100%

I've got a couple sets of NOS foams I bought several years back, but I still find myself buying the Year One reproductions and cutting them down...

The YO repros are sturdier than the OEM seals.
