I know there is a name for these things but recently purchased a restored GSX. Need these to use at car shows. Pop the others out and put in the two new ones. Would someone tell me the name of these and where to find them? Thanks.
The original ones are currently no longer available except as hard to find NOS. The repros are not correct. A member her Duane is in the process of having the correct ones remade.
Marco, the repros have a very thin black rubber coating on them(outer shell),whereas the originals had a light gray coating that appears to be lightly sprayed on. Also the foam on the repros are gray where the originals were a greenish gray.
Well I can say that I don't know about the greenish gray color, because on my factory air cleaner they are grey, and have nothing to do with green in any way, and they are factory.
I am still in the development stage regarding the repro Foam Air Cleaner seals. When I get a prototype done I will let everyone know. Until then I will have no info as far as delivery times or pricing. So please don't e-mail me, until I get further with the project. Duane
Ron, I think they are the nicest repro's I have ever seen. Seems like it's time to SCRAP the project. In all honesty, right now I am working to fill all my backorders on other parts, and am trying to NOT pressure the company that is going to extrude the foams. Once they send a prototype, it will not take any time to get them die-cut. Until then I will not answer any e-mails, etc, or take any orders regarding this part, I am concentrating on parts I can supply first. It's going to be like the cotter pins I sell, once I have them, I will have enough for 10 years, but until they are finished I will not have any. Duane
Are these really factory repros, my original ones for my 72 look nothing like these at all, and where did you get those from?
I don't want to give Duane any ideas but here are 2 from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7924003973
Will they be available in pink? I thought I overheard Brad at the BPG Nats saying he wished he had a set for his black '71 GSX.
Just remember Ken, someday you'll want to put that Limemist GSX in concours...then you'll have to deal with me.
