    Hey Rob,

    Sweet valve covers.

I'm definetly not being critical with the following questions. I'm just trying to learn from the big boys. Why not use Stage 2 TE heads and pick up some exhaust port flow? And why a flat tappet cam now that TA has roller cams?

    Thanks

Yes the valve covers are cool but I have always wanted to build a Somerset or 90 Skylark which I used to own. After checking prices on chassis parts I got a 72 to build. I will try to make it to the nats but money will tell. Great car!

I have had my Stage 1 TE heads for a long time and Bobb has worked them a couple times to work with this combo, so there was no need to spend any more $ than necessary.
As far as the cam goes, We didn't need to put any more stress in the block than necessary.

He needs to run that in the Super Gas in the US Nationals so I can go watch him. I live down the road from there.

That's my dream to run there with a Buick and Buick powered.

Talked with Rob yesterday. All I'll say is that he is in the same boat as I am... we are both in the trailer and not racing. :af:

I'll let Rob reply for himself.

We have to stop this not racing our Buicks and just do it!. We need to flood NHRA races with Buicks to show them we mean business! Hey that gives me an ideal for a new thread.

I meant that we are both "broke" and not able to race. I think mine might be a head gasket or at the worst a cracked block. Won't know for a few days until I have time to tear it down.

Well it was not what I wanted to post, but we had "issues". I ended up pulling the motor at the track after pulling the oil filter and it looked like some one had been mining for gold in the engine. Lots of bearing material. Bobb will be doing an autopsy this week and giving me a full diagnosis later this week.
