My patience got a little thin with getting this motor together and the lifter bores have the indexing slots JB welded so I ended up making 3 passes going straight to the bottle. It is setup a little soft on the 60ft cutting only a 1.37 which should be a 1.27 or so once I start to lean on it harder but still went a 5.66 at 126 in the 1/8 and 8.96 at 133 getting out of it. Should be 5.40's with the small cam I am running now and 5.30's with the replacement cam. Video link http://videos.streetfire.net/video/78e354cb-fa5c-455c-af69-021a67a3295d.htm
Cool :bglasses:  :TU: looks like it should be well into the 8's when you get it dialed in. With that mph you must of let up early. Good job Rick Congrats :TU: Chris
Rick I'm happy for ya'! It's been a long time comin',Bet that felt great! Was that part throttle at the release of the 'brake then to the floor or do you have the Digital7 in there?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm! I detect a little soft pedal on both ends? p Gonna save the 140's pass for Salem Rick? This 10.5 class is going to be very interesting. Nice pass - glad you finally were able to get it together. What was the outcome of the cam and lifter meltdown? Lifter bind?
Rick that was a very nice run for leaving (what you call soft  ) and letting up early! :beer Can't wait to hear what it does on a good hooked full pass :bglasses: :eek2:
set-up... Pro Digital 7 with a transbrake rev limiter set at 3200. 3200 happens to be the max rpm the motor will rev against the brake with the tight converter I am currently running so I set the box at 3200 and the nitrous comes on at 3400. I have a NOS Progressive nitrous controler that activates the 2nd stage which is why it leaves a little soft. The big headers and new converter adjustment also helped. I am very happy with the last adjustment to the 10" converter I have been runnning. It was a 10" Art Carr that uses the 10" Ford core(very common, very stout piece). The stator is somewhat tight with the converter veins set at 0 degrees. It was at -15 degrees which was giving me 4000 stall but slipping all the way thru the light. My new converter guy straightened out my converter and changed it over to a spragless so I wont chew up any more stators which sprags like to do. I shifted and ran the motor to 7000 before I lifted which put me @half-way between the 1/8th and 1/4. I am runnng a 29.5 M/T at the moment which measure 29.9", basically 30". By the time I dial it in, I will need 8000 rpm to stretch it thru the 1/4 but it still will coast thru in the 8's with me lifting. I am all about longitivity. I have to milk out this stock crank and block for all its worth. When I get home, I'll post the pics of the 2 3/8" headers I built......... :Brow:
Rick If you decide to make an appearance at Dunn-Benson one night let me know. I'd like to come see it run.
Very nice Rick. I'm looking forward to seeing your car run in Salem next month. You will be there right? :beer
